Does anyone know where I can purchase these in the UK? I can only seem to find them on the US Tracy Anderson website where the shipping cost is 31USD! I've contacted the website directly a couple of times but nobody answering :-(

I'm a fitness fanatic - still keeping it up at 22 weeks pgnt with DC2 - I've heard not such great things about that DVD - post pregnancy I found her cardio DVDs good (after 8 weeks tho) someone else might have more insight than me.

ebay? I got the post-pregnancy ones from there I think (although I thought they were dreadful: just hours and hours of ab work... I did them about twice and then resold them - and I'm a gym bunny and love working out!).

Hi Clarabell78

I emailed them and said could they ship surface as $31 was outrageous. They said no!

I've just ordered the what to expect when you're expecting dvd from amazon. Fingers crossed it's ok!

Clarabell78 · 06/01/2013 20:32

Do you have any other recommendations for pregnancy exercise DVDs? My gym has a serious lack of classes suitable for during pregnancy and want to keep myself active.

P.s I've tried amazon and eBay and can't find pregnancy project

I would recommend:

  1. Erin O'Brien - Complete Pregnancy Fitness (good but quite short)

  2. Summer Sanders - Prenatal Workout (done by trimester). Fairly lazy in places (not the exercises, but how the 'extended' versions of a workout are just the same shorter workout twice...), and you'll probably need to mute it to avoid the smugness/American-chirpiness, but otherwise ok. You need resistance bands for this one.

  3. Hot Mamas - Fit Pregnancy (long but good. A lot of it is standing around whilst she explains stuff though, so I've actually just written out the exercises and do them without the DVD now).

  4. Suzanne Bowen's - Pregnancy Workout (harder than it looks!)

  5. Karyne Steben - The Perfect Pregnancy Workout (doesn't deserve the title, but is decent)

  6. Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga and Short Forms - 15, 30, 45 and 75 yoga routines which I like more than I thought I would. I generally do the 15min routine as my stretching routine: don't really have the patience for much longer than that...

I use all of these on a rotating basis.

There's also a '10min pregnancy pilates' DVD or similar name - 5x10min pregnancy pilates workouts, which are fairly good and useful if you can't find the time for a full workout.

Don't bother with Caroline Sandry's 'Pregnancy and Pilates': I think it takes more energy to put the DVD in the player and get into your workout gear than you expend doing the routines.. So so so boring.

As you can tell, I love to exercise :)

Wow - thanks so much! That is really helpful :-)

I have had exactly the same problem but have now found it on US Amazon (Amazon.com not .co.uk). The only problem is that it is not released until March... MUCH cheaper than direct from the Tracy Anderson website though. I'm due in July - is it worth buying it for the last few months?!
I also have the 10 minute prenatal pilates which is good, and so is the Suzanne Bowen pregnancy workout. Do not waste your money on Tara Lee Pregnancy Health Yoga unless you want to do more sitting down and breathing than actually working out - I was so disappointed with that one...

If you don't want to order the TAM pregnancy project from her website (and pay the customs fee), you can get it here as part of a pregnancy package (great if you plan on using the products too). She does have some pregnancy moves on YouTube also.

I have been following TAM for nearly 3 years now so it was a natural progression for me to go to her pregnancy DVDs. I got my BFP last week and did my first instalment yesterday and loved it. Very manageable (arms were killing so should be no excuse to let the guns go flabby!). There was one move that was using the stomach muscles quite a bit and I was unsure of doing, but I just skipped that one. Just do what feels comfortable to you.

I've just ordered the postnatal Tracy Anderson workout- but it does not work in my DVD player- never had this problem before. Is anyone else having problems playing Tracy Anderson videos - maybe because they are American? Has anyone found a way of obtaining Tracy Anderson videos which work in the UK? Also quite keen to get the pregnancy video (I'm pregnant but bought the other one in anticipation of getting back into shape pronto!) but seems only available in the US.

Saundy · 15/04/2013 08:08

You can get them on the mama mio website Smile also eBay every now & then.

Saundy · 15/04/2013 08:12

I think it was called the 9 month stretch kit so you had to buy skin products too & cost me approx £50 a few weeks ago.

Saundy · 19/05/2013 10:34

Hey I know its been a while but just to come back to this I have to say the Tracy Anderson PP was not for me. I like things like the 30 day Shred & this one was so gentle and she was so silent during the exercises that I couldn't motivate myself to do it at all so have stuck it on ebay.

I think I need someone barking at me to get me moving. Is there anything a bit more up tempo out there that anyone has tried?!

ChristineCartlidge · 19/05/2013 11:38

The best ones for Pregnancy are:

Prenatal Fitness with Erin O'Brien and Prenatal Pilates: Strengthen & Sculpt with Caroline Sandry's are both great workouts and keep you in shape. I agree with the other reviewer and would stay away from the old Caroline Sandry's 'Pregnancy and Pilates' and the Tracy Anderson PP as I was disappointed as well.

Featherbag · 19/05/2013 11:58

Not DVD related, but have you contacted your local council-run gym to ask if they've a maternity wellness advisor? I'm meeting my new (free!) personal trainer at the gym on Thursday to work out my pregnancy fitness plan which won't exacerbate my sacroiliac dysfunction. I pay gym membership, but that also covers things like swimming, aquanatal and Pilates classes, not bad at all for under £20 a month!

Saundy · 19/05/2013 11:59

Thank you I just don't want to waste money on another one to be faced with soothing music and a near silent instructor.

How long are the actual workout's (I also liked the 20 minute-ness of the 30 day Shred!)?

Saundy · 19/05/2013 12:01

Ooh I'll check that out as I was considering Aquanatal anyway, though my council gym is a bit of a trek which is why I didn't stick at it last time.
