Decent but cheap changing bag

bangersmashandbeans · 04/01/2013 06:49

Hi, 35 weeks with number two and need a changing bag. Unlike with DD1 my financial priorities have changed slightly and I shall most definitely NOT be spending upwards of £40-50 on a changing bag. Have done lots of research but reviews seem so mixed that I need some help finding a cheap but reliable decent sized one please!

My friend has this one-seems good so far! Decent ssize too. Have you had a look on ebay? I recently got a £65 changing bag for £30 and it's in brand new condition.

I was quite find of the mothercare one: light, plain, had all the right holes (eg for bottles etc) with no noisy Velcro.

I got fed up in the end though and moved onto a cheap backpack with a Munchkin changing folder thing as a mat.

Look at melo baby. Small, practicable changing bag that fits within any other bag or under buggy etc

bangersmashandbeans · 04/01/2013 08:06

Thanks everyone will have a look. eBay is a good shout too!

did you sign up for the boots parenting club 1st time round? we are still using the bag I got free when expecting DC1, for DC2, and it's great.

bangersmashandbeans · 04/01/2013 08:17

Unfortunately I didn't and apparently they have changed the bag and it's now too small. Real shame

this is the one I have, is the new one much smaller? I find that I carry much less with me this time round anyway, so don't need a huge bag :)

poocatcherchampion · 04/01/2013 08:41

I love the boots one too!

Longdistance · 04/01/2013 08:51

I liked the Pampers free one from Boots. Joned their parenting club, and got a voucher for a free change bag when buying Pampers.
I only got it as a second one to leave at my mums. Then got fed up with the Mamas and Papas one I had, and used the free one.

bangersmashandbeans · 04/01/2013 10:10

I've just joined the boots parenting club as I thought I may as well give the freebie bag a go. I think this time round I should be able to streamline what I lug around anyway! Thanks everyone.

I have this babymel one I really like it.

As for having less stuff, well I had to take stuff out for DD so that didn't quite work out (19 month gap). Even not at nearly three I take out a change of clothes for her, plus hat/food etc.

There is an offer on bounty.com this week to get the Cosatto Go Go for £12 instead of £40, there might still be some left if you wanted to have a look... You'll need an account for bounty but it's free to sign up and then there's a code on the website.

I ordered one yesterday and it's due to arrive for delivery today. Delivery is free as part of the deal.

www.online4baby.com/cosatto-baby-go-go-stowaway-bag-charcoal This is the bag - or there's a chocolate and pink one.

bangersmashandbeans · 04/01/2013 10:57

Badger that's a great find! Have just ordered one! Thanks so much, what a bargain. Will have two now but that's no bad thing. Can keep a pre-packed one in DHs car so I don't get the usual "what do I need to take??" questions! Thanks Grin

I too use the free one from the Boots parenting club! It's quite decent. I could not otherwise find one that I liked that was reasonably priced.

BadgerFace · 07/01/2013 04:32

I have the boots free one as well and minibadger arrived a bit surprisingly on saturday morning at 38.5 weeks so will soon find out if it's big enough or not!

good luck with your births and babies ladies!

bangersmashandbeans · 07/01/2013 06:20

Congrats badger!

I had a cheap changing bag but it did not last so I found myself having to spend more money. I decided to buy a good quality changing bag that would last and something I could use after there was no need. I bought this one

justhayley · 24/01/2014 21:44

Go for the free one and join the boots parenting club. I used it for 18 months with DS - everyday no complaints.

Dusty04 · 25/01/2014 13:21

I got mine in TK maxx, JJ cole one. Wouldn't have paid full price but I love it. Even DH will carry it!

wiltingfast · 25/01/2014 14:18

Have you looked through the bags you already own? All you really need is a capacious bag, then you can add a toiletry bag for creams, nappy bags etc and off you go! Flexible, cheap and almost certainly good looking Wink

littlemisswine · 25/01/2014 20:11

next do some nice ones
