Recommend a forward facing pushchair/buggy

Hi,

I'm looking for a forward facing light pushchair, ideally one that can be used from birth or from 3 months onwards. It doesn't have to be one that comes with a car seat but I'm hoping to spend no more than £150-£200. Weight is an issue for me, the lighter the better for me!

Thanks

By forward facing I mean one where baby is facing the parent.

I'd say to have a look on EBay. Both new and used and varying prices take account budgets. Good luck Grin

Try looking on the review bit on here - that can be really useful.

And I think that parent-facing is called rear-facing, when you are looking.

Have you checked out the review section on Mumsnet? The Maclaren XLR is a firm favourite with many (myself included) and with the carseat, it faces towards the parent. As baby gets older I've found they often want to look out into the world and that stroller does that. It can be used from birth and Maclaren are good for servicing and parts.

How about a second hand bugaboo bee?

njoy bubble, the only umbrella folding rear facer

I'd go with a Maclaren. I think once they're a few months old they like to be able to see what's going on, rather than look at mum. I've the Techno XT and I love it. It's light, easy to fold and the adjustable height handles are great for both tall me and short DH. And they last forever. They're great value.

I've bought a Britax B-Smart 4 link - It's rear and forward facing and seems to handle very well and has pretty good reviews. It's a lot bigger than I'd hoped for though, to be honest - I expected it to be smaller! Oh well...

Zapp extra is very light, takes a car seat, seat faces either way. Basket is crap but seems to fit all your other requirements.

I'd go for a maclaren, I got the maclaren sport for about 110 quid new and it can be used from 3 months (i had another pram, but needed the maclaren for getting on and off buses, other pram was too bulky).

I got the sport as it was light (think its about 5.1kg)

I think the mclaren XT Techno can be used from birth and falls within your price range too (mahbe 150 quid-ish?) The Techno is heavier than the Sport (maybe 7kg? not sure)

I bought a nice fleecy buggy snuggle to use with my mclaren so that my son would be cosey in it (he was 4 months and it was February when I got it).

I think if you ever plan on using public transport having a lightweight buggy like a maclaren is a godsend, we also find it takes up much less room in the boot of the car, so have always used our maclaren for weekends away, holidays etc.

Sorry, just realised that when you said forward facing, you mean rearward facing - you might want to ignore my previous post!

I got a loola up - which can be both rearward and forward and loved it, but while it's not the heaviest pram in the world, I still preferred my mclaren for going out and about!

The most inexpensive parent facing push chair we found 3 years ago NEW was the Britax one.. Very easy to switch the seat in either direction, though the path chair itself is a bit bulky, I think we paid about £250.00!
