Stylish clothes for early(ish) pregnancy?

hi there, new on here - I'm 13 wks and starting to show a little bit, but mainly have just put on about half a stone. For various reasons I don't want to tell work for a few wks, but none of my old smart clothes (trousers and fitted tops) look ok any more.

I've tried going up a size but that just looks really messy and casual. Maternity clothes all seem to emphasise my bump (prob just too many pies!).

Does anyone have any advice for stylish, smart clothes that can hide the bump for the next month or so? Am hoping they would also be useful for the months after birth.

Thanks!

I didn't start buying maternity clothes until about 24 weeks. Up until then I wore looser blouses/tops with fitted trousers, or dresses. I wore a fitted blazer as that distracts from the bump, and worn open it hides the bump from the side! H&M had lots of nice maternity clothes and reasonably priced too.

I went straight for maternity clothes just wore long tops, jackets or scarves to hide the bump. Go baggy, it's the perfect time of year to hide your bump.

I swopped from trousers and fitted tops to dresses. I could not make trousers work at all. I found enough capacious dresses to not have to buy maternity clothes for a while. Cos was really good for that sort of thing, and All Saints quite good too oddly enough.

This isn't a massive issue for me because I wear uniforms at work and slob at home! However, I bought maternity trousers for work and I got a pair of Gap pinstripe trousers off eBay. They are gorgeous - lovely fabric, really comfy and look very smart!

Dresses with long/waterfall cardigans, or a jacket if you need to be superformal.

Thanks - this is all excellent advice! I suppose it's just a case of developing a new style. I will definitely try roomy dresses! Also hadn't considered eBay, which is a great idea

Dresses! I have a few 'ponte' (like heavy jersey) that are stretchy and it just looks like I've overindulged a little.
Got 2 different colours in the same style from tesco before christmas - great as they have the peplum bit that covers the area a little.
Only £18 too.
