Just check on NHS website what cheese us pregnant ladies can and can't eat. For some reason I thought Stilton was a no no, but I'm wrong! hurrah!

Think it must be a recent change as I just found out too. Been eating far too much of it this Christmas Blush

Longfufu · 25/12/2012 11:51

Yeah must be recent as I'm sure with DS1 I couldn't have it. Happy Days :)

Daaaaaamn, only just spotted this and just passed on our cheese board. Bugger.

Any idea if dolcelate is also ok then?

fanjobiscuits · 25/12/2012 19:57

I am pretty sure dolcelate is a no as it's a soft cheese (Stilton ok as hard). Although dolcelate cooked properly should be ok.

jinglebellyalltheway · 25/12/2012 21:24

I think it's soft cheeses with a mould rind like goats cheese or bree, not all soft cheese

miarosemum · 25/12/2012 22:56

Mmm I thoroughly enjoyed my Stilton this evening! Grin

Soft blue veined cheeses not advised: www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/why-cant-I-eat-soft-cheeses-during-pregnancy.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=216

NHS page specifically listing Stilton as OK:
