Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting in a mad panic as my hands feel really clumsy, even though I'm typing this ok, and I've got tingling in my hands. I have insane hypochondria at the best of times, but this is really getting me down.

It sounds like carpol tunnel syndrome (sp) its very common in pregnancy and you shouldnt worry. I wake up in the morning and all feeling will have gone from my hands lol! It eventually returns :)

Ahh, welcome to the joys of carpal tunnel syndrome! I had exactly the same thing, starting with the clumsy hands, slightly-weaker-than-normal fingers thing, and ending up with horrible numb fingers every time I woke up. Your tissues are swelling up, restricting the flow of blood etc to your hands through your (already very narrow) carpal tunnel. Please try not to get anxious. I know it's hard. I had terrible post natal anxiety, and have been on citalopram for a couple of years, which has helped enormously.

Yep, that's most likely carpal tunnel! My hands in the middle of the night are fixed claws. Left hand much worse than the right. Right hand eventually works properly during the day. I'm told it wears off gradually after the birth.

Yes, carpal tunnel. Mine resolved itself after they were born.

If it gets really bad you can wear splints at night, depends how desperate you are.

Thank you! That makes me feel so much better. I am an idiot because I googled even though I know Dr Google is not my friend. I'm a terribly anxious person at the best of times and I get myself into a state. Thank you so much- it's such a relief to know its not just me !
