Feel like an elderly disabled old bag. Any one had Braxton hicks that are not like Braxton hicks?

They are really very painful.
Every 10 minutes last night until about 5am.

Had jobs to do this morning so dragged myself out, parked outside bank, but as soon as i start to walk or do any form of activity, these pains come and i can hardly walk.

I know what Braxton Hicks feel like, these are not Braxton Hicks, i know what contractions feel like, these are not contractions.
They are a bit in the middle really, but nontheless, painful.

Seeing the midwife tomorrow afternoon who seem unconcerned.
Ended up on delivery suite a couple of weeks ago, with the same thing but minutes apart.
Again, they seemed unconcerned, pumped me with pethidine and monitored me a couple of times til it all went off. Then packed off home.

I am a wee bit worried tbh. 32 weeks now and still got another 5 weeks to work, but struggling doing the simple things.
Anyone with experience? What happened int he end? Did you deliver early? Was everything ok?

Yes. Just as you describe! i'm 33+3 and mine come in regular runs of about 5-10 mins apart. Not painful like real contractions but very very uncomfortable. When they start I can't walk/ do anything and have to stop whatever I'm doing until they pass. Mine can also last for hours at a time and I've also made it into the hospital, been hooked up to the machine to monitor them and then flung out with 'must be just braxton hicks'. Midwife thinks that as this is DD3 maybe they are just stronger this time round.

I've also had 2 UTI infections and these have made them much more frequent and sore - have you been checked for this?

I'm back at midwife on Wednesday and will def mention them again as don't think they should be this bad this early on. I'm also struggling with everyday tasks but thankfully I finish up for my mat leave on Friday - can't wait!

Would it be possible for you to finish work any earlier?

I had this with DD. Everywhere I looked (internet) and everything mw told me made me panic more as everyone just parrots that BH aren't painful etc. Mine continued to ramp up and DD engaged early. They slowly morphed into early labour contractions and DD was born 10 days early.

I just rested lots. I decided that, as medically there were no concerns, it was obviously my body preparing for labour. I did have a straight forward and easy labour and Im sure all the practice runs had something to do with that. Im expecting it to happen again this time as at 26wks Im already getting quite a few non painful BH.

Try not to worry and obviously if anything more concerning happens ring your mw.

Hmm, no need to practice contractions as i am booked for a C section in January Grin

This is my second (live) baby somaybe something to do with it.

Dont think ive got UTI as all urine is clear.

Decided that this baby cannot come when my oven is dirty so sat on a wee stool and attemped to clean it. Soon got pains, and short of breath so had to stop.

Sigh.

Frustrating.
I am being forced to think about earlier mat leave. Better ring HR, see what i can do. Sad

I could have written your post word for word OP.

I'm also 32 weeks and was admitted to hospital Friday night as my tightenings were so regular (5 in 10 mins) they put me at high risk of going into pre term labour. I was given steroid injections and medication to try and relax my womb and was kept in until yesterday.

Contractions had died down by yesterday but I've only got to walk to the toilet and they start again. My cervix was thick and closed so I don't think anything will come of it but it is scary. And so debilitating! I've written myself off now until the baby is born. I've had to!

Good luck with getting your maternity early. I am extremely bored and frustrated but know that being off work and 'resting' is my only option really

I also have the pains you describe. Been up the hospital for monitoring as they thought I must be in early labour. Cervix was tightly closed so they weren't concerned. I was told they must be Braxton Hicks, even though midwife agreed they aren't usually this strong. They tend to come on as soon as I start doing anything like walking, housework etc. Although occassionally for no apparent reason, such as in the middle of the night.

This is my 5th baby and I never had pains like this with any of my others. It is like being in early labour. Hopefully means I will have a lovely easy labour when it does start.

Fingers crossed for everyone that it means all of us will have an easy labour.
