Overdue- Is using a breast pump a good way to induce labour?

Im 40 weeks plus 4 on first pregnancy. Have tried long walks, sex, baths, curries and bouncing on fitness ball. Have read and seen on youtube that nipple with breast pump can bring on contractions. I havent had any leaking throughout the pregnancy, but i dont want to lose any colostrum by trying this. Can your body make more colostrum or is it a limited supply?

Interested in knowing if anyone has tried this method? thanks a lot :)

Colostrum is not finite. It is recommended to express some anyway in case baby needs help stabilising blood sugar after birth.

I have heard it can help induce labour.

You can hand express until you get a let-down. Doesn't have to be with a breast pump. Cololostrum is more about the content than the amount. Babies only take very small amounts very often. Its just very high in fat and other wonderfull things. I wouldnt worry about running out so to speak.

I wouldn't risk it if I were you. Baby will come when its ready.
