Hi,

Time for a random question...

.....does anyone know if it's safe to wear a support band in bed? The kind that looks like a tubular bandage.

Thanks

I believe so, I had a velcro support belt for during the day, and a tubigrip type one for nighttime too.

If in doubt, ask your mw though :)

Fab, thanks Ellypoo - it's a tubigrip that I have, couldn't think of the name.
Will give it a go and see if it helps to stop bump from sinking to the side Smile

If it's for bump support have you considered a Dreamgenii pillow? I don't get on with mine, I admit, because I move about a LOT in the night. But if you need the support and don't do a lot of moving it might be another option?

I just put a small thin pillow under my bump at night to support it, then another pillow behind my back to stop me rolling over! Cheaper than a dreamgenii but I am tempted to get one of those too!

Mothercare have their pregnancy pillows on offer at the moment, £30 down from £40, mine's really helped within a week, bad back has gone completely and hip pain is considerably better.
They are different to the dream genii ones because they haven't got the bit that goes under your ribs so you can just hold it between your legs and turn over easily, it's just like a very long 'normal' pillow. Mine reaches from my chest to my toes.

I've got a wedge pillow, which is £10 in Mothercare but I paid £2 from an NCT nearly new sale (there were 4 of them there and we got there late!). I wanted it as a sort of doorstop to stop me rolling onto my front in the night as that makes baby very cross, but I find it's really supportive for my bump and stays in place better than my long pillow. Might be a cheapo temporary solution?
