Do you want to know the sex of your baby??

Just for a wee bit of fun tell me what age you conceived and what month you are due and I will tell you if you are having a girl or a boy!!

Why don't you all just ask the midwife to tell you at the 20 week scan?!

They're usually accurate to about 99.9%!

I did. No qualms. DH was completely of the same opinion. Once you know the sex, you can actually talk to your child by name then (if you've decided a name, that is) so they stop being 'the bump' or 'baby' which we thought incredibly impersonal.

charliemouse2 - believe it or not my local hospital has a policy that it won't tell parents the sex - daft, eh?! You don't even get a routine 20weeks scan round here either.

Saying that though, I'm not sure I really would like to find out the sex - I think I like the surprise :)

really Wallace? Why? What possible reason could they have for not telling people something that they know? Where's the harm in telling people if they want to know the sex beforehand? I'd have kicked up a right stink if I was going to your hospital.

Mummygow - I know it's a bit of fun. I was just being a bit flippant too!

I've already had my babe, but I'll see if you're right. I was 28 when I conceived and my due date was 2nd September (but the babe wasn't born till 2 weeks after if that affects your prediction!)

We will have amnio, so will have the opportunity. I can't decide if I will want to know or enjoy the surprise. Dh says I am way too much of a control freak not to know ahead of time!

charliemouse easier said than done - the hospital I would have had dd2 at had we stayed in the UK have a policy of not disclosing the gender of the baby at the 20 week scan unless there is a history of an inherited impairment that is gender based.

Or they could be like my dd2 who never gave it away at the 20 week scan nor the 36 week scan.

They say it is in case they get it wrong, and people are upset or sue! If tht is the case I don't understand why they can't just get you to sign sometning.

we are having 4d scan done in 2 weeks and we are finding out the sex so will let you know ...thanks x

Mummygow did you forget about me - what am i Having. Aged 39 concieved in december due in september.

Am 18/40 at the moment will try and find out at the 21/40 uss but my last baby was shy and had its legs crossed so no guarantees with that

Hellkat - yes do remember you i'm now 18+4 have posted a few times on due in sept club but don't often get on computer due to work and then when i'm off have to get past teenage children for the computer
