DH has some sort of illness with very fast onset and now I'm terrified...

My DH is never ill.

Yesterday and the day before he was shivering, but boiling hot, severe headache, nausea... And today he keeps saying his hands and feet hurt... and it's become more and more severe until he's literally hobbling around and his fingers have a sort of red rash of spots that look like heat bumps on them.

He's not a baby so he must seriously feel like crap to be acting the way he is...

He said he can't miss work tomorrow as he has to process someone's time sheets for them (a contractor who is away) as a favour and so can't see a doctor.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant after 6 miscarriages and I'm terrified he's going to give me something... This sounds completely selfish I know but so much has gone wrong I just can't think of anything else.

Oh, and after I had managed to get an appointment for DD last week (after 3 days of phoning at 8.30am) - I noticed a board in the waiting room asking people to remember to cancel their appointments if they no longer need them as 68 people had missed appointments last week and the appointments went to waste! That does make me Angry, everyone must know how hard it is to get seen, why would you not cancel so that someone else can have it?

Why doesn't he want to go to A&E? Men! Can't he understand the gravity of the matter?Confused

cleoismycat · 16/11/2012 13:22

has he been?

JustFabulous · 16/11/2012 13:26

Why would he ring for advice and not take it? He might not want the hassle but he has a baby to think of now.

curiousgeorgie · 16/11/2012 13:28

He's there now waiting to be seen.

I think he just feels a bit silly going to A&E when it doesn't feel strictly like an emergency...

I'm so much happier now he's gone though!

He needs to tell them about your pregnancy and your history so that they can give advice.

MikeLitoris · 16/11/2012 15:21

Any news op?

curiousgeorgie · 16/11/2012 15:36

Yes, it's hand foot and mouth quite severely, but thankfully not harmful to pregnant women apparently!

So relieved!! Grin

Glad to hear it OP! Hope you can relax now!! Poor old DH, but at least no harm to you/baby

MikeLitoris · 16/11/2012 16:32

I dont want to appear to be scaremongering but it isn't entirely safe for pg women.

Not only is a shitty illness to have there is also a tiny risk of mc.

I went through recurrent mc so i do understand your anxieties.

I am positive you will be absolutely fine but i couldnt not say anything.

JustFabulous · 16/11/2012 16:59

ML, how can you say there is a tiny risk and then that you are positive the OP will be fine. You can't possibly know that so while you are right to air your concerns I think then saying that kind of negates them.

CindySherman · 16/11/2012 17:09

You do need further advice for yourself OP.

MikeLitoris · 16/11/2012 17:13

Fgs dont nit pick just I think my point was clear enough.

If it makes you feel better how about i change my post to 'I'm almost positive you will be fine'

Makes a world of difference doesnt it? Hmm

JustFabulous · 16/11/2012 17:27

I don't need to be made to feel better. I mearely posted my opinion.
