I'm 13+3 and had a rocky first tri in which I've been good for nothing! My band occassionally play wedding gigs and we've got one in for next year when I'll be 32 weeks. It'll be a long day, physical with lots of driving. Not sure whether to cancel now to be on the safe side, as I've no idea if I'll be up to it and would hate to let anyone down or nor be on top form. What were you doing at 32 weeks? How were you feeling?

I felt great then Smile
Had a terrible first trimester but felt really well from about 20 weeks onwards. Full of energy Smile I left on mat leave at 33 weeks and decorated the house from top to bottom and swam 30 lengths per day!
The feeling well lasted until at least 38 weeks when I have to admit the good for nothingness returned for those last few weeks! Smile

I'm coming up on 34 weeks and absolutely shattered. A long, physical day has been out of the question for me for weeks. I do, however, work fu time and have a not quite 2 year old.

pollyontheshore · 14/11/2012 07:45

Looking at the diary i had rehearsals, played on radio and did a gig at 34 weeks, as well as teaching and dealing with various emergencies that cropped up that week. Wasn't able to help much with the PA and gear and my work isn't that physical though, and that week there wasn't too much driving. Now 36 weeks and can manage one long day if the days either side are less busy and if I'm well prepared, but would rather not have to. (Tomorrow's not looking fun). Hope that helps.

pollyontheshore · 14/11/2012 07:46

Should read thread properly - 32 weeks had much more energy!

VolumeOfACone · 14/11/2012 07:48

I had my baby by then. So I think I was probably attached to an electric pump, expressing.

Jollyb · 14/11/2012 07:53

I felt pretty lousy. Didn't realise it but had SPD. I stopped work at 32 weeks but then had 10 agonising weeks until DD arrived! It was only when I saw my sister still working as a childminder at 38 weeks that I realised that my pain wasn't normal. Point of the post is that it really depends. BTW I felt ok til 28 weeks.

Pascha · 14/11/2012 08:08

I'm 33+3 with a toddler and I feel fine but I do slow myself down through the day and I don't have any health problems. It's very different for everybody.

I'm now 35 weeks - at 32 I felt fine. About 5 days ago I threw an involved
dinner party that involved being on my feet all day cooking and preparing, hosting the thing, then getting to bed at 3am. I was tired and ha very sore feet, but it didn't feel unmanageable.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/11/2012 08:24

At 32 weeks I flew to Dubai (well nearly 33 weeks) and had a great fun packed holiday, then flew home (at nearly 34 weeks).

There are some days I'm knackered but if I rest up I can do the stuff I want. I'm 35+3 now and still go to Zumba and take kids to school and walk round the woods with them.

DangerMousey · 14/11/2012 08:39

At 32 weeks I did my last work trip out of London for meetings....i got the train to Manchester in the rush hour, and then spent two days in the northern office, staying at a friend's house up there overnight, in between. Then travelled back to Kent from manchester, via Euston, in the rush hour. Not much fun at the best of times!!

But I managed it relatively comfortably at 32 weeks.

I have had a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy and only started to ropey/knackered/massive/uncomfortable at about 35-36 weeks. Now 37+4 and am dying to get this little boy out!

CelticPromise · 14/11/2012 08:51

Visiting my five week old in hospital!

Sorry not helpful OP. If I hadn't had DS early I'd have been working. Could someone else maybe do the driving?

teacher123 · 14/11/2012 08:58

I got signed off work sick at 33 weeks with high bp and suspected pre-eclampsia. Was on bed rest for 3 weeks, then had to go to dr for check ups twice a week. The feeling rubbish crept up on me, I had a very straightforward pregnancy until then, but for the last 6 weeks I felt horrific. I didn't realise how bad until I had DS at 39 weeks, and after 3 days in a labour, a crash section, high bp and pneumonia I STILL felt better than I had done whilst pregnant...! As a musician, I did my last concert when I was 30 weeks, and I struggled, but I was already ill by then. It's so hard to predict!

naughtymummy · 14/11/2012 09:03

I went clubbing till 3am at 33 weeks. Then traipsed around wedding dress shops the next day to choose bf wedding dress. I felt fine.

MainlyMaynie · 14/11/2012 09:09

I had bad SPD and was on crutches. Couldn't walk far or lift or carry. But I was still working and managed the occasional 12 hour day ok and was still travelling abroad.

PeshwariNaan · 14/11/2012 09:55

I'm 31.5 weeks and walking for more than 15 minutes (esp. uphill) gets slow and painful around the edges of my bump. I can't carry anything too heavy really. We live in London and don't have a car, so I'm aware of how I've changed from a super fast city walker to a lumbering ox.

Other than that, I feel great! Of course, I would have traded feeling almost anything for how I felt until 22 weeks - vomiting multiple times a day was no fun. Even labour sounded good to me then.

I do get tired quicker, but not completely exhausted like I felt in the first trimester. I expect that'll come later.

Beamur · 14/11/2012 09:57

I was carrying on as normal. Felt very well and had no complications. I was very lucky and had an easy pregnancy.

surfingbabies · 14/11/2012 11:49

I'm 32 weeks now and I've been exhausted for a week now, midwife said its very common 30+ baby has its last growth spurt now so really you should be resting and conserving your energy for when baby arrives. I feel great with day to day things, about 4pm I'm done though! We went shopping an hour and half away on Saturday and it was just too much!

Zorra · 14/11/2012 12:05

Still working in South Sudan at 32 weeks Grin. I suspect that this time I'll be lying on the sofa!

AlienRefluxovermypoppy · 14/11/2012 12:06

I was scrambling round the house, trying to pack my hospital back while in labour!!

Though I had ages, but she was 8 weeks early, just cancel, you will only worry other wise.

mrsbugsywugsy · 14/11/2012 12:29

I'm 30 weeks and at 32 weeks I'll be handing in my Masters' dissertation if I can drag myself of MN for long enough to finish the bloody thing

I work FT so am studying in the evenings and weekends. I'm pretty exhausted at the moment, and I'm not sure to what extent that is to do with pregnancy, studying, or a bit of both.

Physically, I am a bit of a wreck - struggling with hills and stairs. But I've also just been told I am anaemic so that could be related.

As a one off, I reckon you would probably be fine to do the gig. Definitely ask someone else to drive, so you can rest as much as possible. As others have said, it is dependent on you having a complication-free pregnancy, but I wouldn't assume you will be ill, just because you will be pregnant, IYSWIM.

pinkpeony4 · 14/11/2012 13:25

I was on holiday in Greece Smile it was very lovely and relaxing. I always feel fine until about 36/37 weeks (this is dc4). With other Children you have no choice to get on with life as normal. I would imagine, that unless you have any complications you will be totally fine to do the gig.

Kafri · 14/11/2012 13:31

At 32 weeks I was really struggling tbh. I was exhausted and sore. Now, just a few weeks later at nearly 35 I actually feel pretty good again. Everybody is different and it can also depend on other factors - other dcs, workload, BP, iron level - all sorts.

RockabillyKitty · 14/11/2012 20:16

I started to get really tired around 30 weeks, something I couldn't imagine early on because I'm quite a motivated person. I'm 34+3 at the mo & just want to be at home, both physically and emotionally, if you know what I mean. If you're thinking of cancelling now, I would.

fishcalledwonder · 14/11/2012 20:20

Felt brilliant! Lots of energy and walking miles each day. Had horrendous morning sickness for months so, with hindsight, it may just have been that I felt much better in comparison!
