DP and I are 43/42, we have been trying for a baby for over 9 years. We opted for IVF three years ago, fell pregnant first time with twins sadly lost both, one at 8 weeks the other at 17 weeks (very traumatic).
We tried IVF for a second time but it didn't take.
After our second attempt and our years of trying au natural we decided it was not meant to be.
We moved from stressful/busy London in September to Kent.
Aunt flo was late this month, took a pregnancy test expecting nothing, the test came back a BFP, I couldn't believe my eyes. I took another test later that day and there it was again BFP!!!
I went to mothercares and bought one of those Baby On Board signs for the car and wore it around my belly when I got home. DP was in shock and over the moon.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, please keep your fingers crossed for us that this one is a keeper x

Thats lovely to hear.

Everyone gas been so supportive, I felt yesterday that I should move away from this blog as I don't want to bring you ladies down, you are all going through a wonderful and exciting time. I wish everyone a healthy and happy pregnancy.

I'll post on Mon to let you know the outcome xxx

Very best of luck for Monday, hoping it all goes well for you and that you can relax a bit over the w/e x

Crossing everything for you. My parents used no contraception for 22 years - my mother wasn't particularly maternal or broody so wasn't fussed that she didn't get pregnant - then she found out she was expecting me at the age of 41. I was born when she was 42. She had bleeding throughout the pregnancy I believe, so really, really hoping and wishing that things go well for you.

fx jools, put for feet up and think positive thoughts, you have a pile of nameless faceless strangers, pregnant and [certainly in my case] TTC who are all rooting for you and minijools xx

ScarlettInSpace · 23/11/2012 12:14

*your feet clearly. unless you have four feet?? Hmm

jools70 · 23/11/2012 12:56

scarlettinspace I hope you are pleased with yourself you just made me cry and then laugh all at the same time Grin. With a gift like that you will conceive in no time x

Another one here that's been lurking with everything crossed for you.

It's good that you saw a heartbeat. I had an absolutely mahoosive amount of bleeding at 11 weeks. Was like a really, really heavy period for two days followed by a couple of weeks of brown blood. I really didn't think there was any way that a baby could have survived that.

My now 15 week old baby proved me wrong.

So, whilst bleeding can mean the worst, it certainly doesn't mean it does.

Best of luck x x

all these amazing stories are whats keeping me going until monday x

There is lots of internet shopping on the Christmas thread to keep you distracted! Thinking of you, the waiting and not knowing sucks xx

jools70 · 24/11/2012 15:39

Just to let you know I'm pretty sure I've miscarried, saw small sac last night.

The fact that we concieved was a miracle, we will not give up hope x

Sleepyfergus · 24/11/2012 15:44

Oh no, really hope that's not the case.

If it is, please still take hope that you might conceive again. If you can do it once, there is always a chance it will happen again. We were ttc for 3.5 years and conceived with fertility treatment, and then conceived naturally when dd was 2 (and I'm 40!) I really think that being pregnant 'righted' my body. So hopefully this pregnancy you have is enough to make your body understand so to speak.

Hope you're holding up okay. Take care, look after yourself. X

inadreamworld · 24/11/2012 17:30

Congratulations....I love hearing stories like this. DH's Mum was trying to have a baby for 15 years (in the days before fertility treatment) then DH came along. I think stress can have a major effect on our bodies so obviously the move out of the big city helped. :)

Piemistress · 24/11/2012 19:11

jools so sorry to hear that :-( we all hope it wasnt what you thought it was and the nurse says all is ok on Monday.

If it was a miscarriage then as said above this pregnancy might very well gave kick started your body. After my miscarriage I went fir acupuncture which I am convinced helped both sort me out post miscarriage and help me conceive. Thinking of you z

If the news on Monday isn't good, and given time you feel like TTC again, then there is a great TTC after miscarriage thread on the conception board. I would have been lost without the support of the ladies on there x

inadreamworld · 24/11/2012 22:46

Am so sorry - I should have read the thread properly before commenting earlier - so sorry for your loss x

EdwardtheEagle · 25/11/2012 05:44

Hey jools. I hope you're wrong. Good luck for tomorrow x

jools70 · 26/11/2012 23:52

Ladies had the scan this morning as expected I had miscarried, the nurse said everything had completly passed so it was good that I didn't have to go through any proceedure.
She also said I will be very fertile for the next few months so try again asap.
Hopefully we will fall again but we won't put any pressure on ourselves.
Thanks for all your support, we are doing fine xx
