Antenatal pilates in London?

Any recommendations? I've got pelvic girdle pain twinges and would really like to find a good class. They do it at the hospital but its at 5.55, no chance of DH getting back to look after DD for that time!

Where in London are you? The Life Centre is meant to be good (not tried it) and they have centres in Notting Hill and Islington. Looks pricey though.

The Life Centre is great, but mainly for yoga. I go to Tenpilates for antenatal pilates and its great. Its all on reformers though so maybe not exactly what you are looking for but its been really good for me.

The light centre in belgravia does it

Thank you! I checked out the life centre but they only do pilates at notting hill. I'm in SE London and work at Angel so it would be a trek. I'll check out the other places.

There's a company called Maternally Fit which has classes in lots of London locations (from memory they have Blackheath in SE london if that's any good?). It's not pilates, more general pregnancy fitness but given EVERYTHING else I've seen is yoga, I thought it might be worth checking out.

I second maternally fit. All their classes are taught by physios who specialise in women's health. They have classes all over London, I went to the Chiswick one. It's a mixture of cardio, strength training, weights and Pilates and there's also lots of advice on hand about pregnancy related aches and pains like SPD. And they make you do 10 minutes working on your pelvic floor while you do hand weights, which I'm now grateful for.

chronic I'm so glad you recommend them. I'm starting at the Wimbledon branch tonight for the first time. I thought the classes looked excellent, but it's nice to hear a first hand recommendation. Have seen a review on their website raving about how important the pelvic floor stuff is!

Jane Wake might be worth a look

Yay! Hope you enjoy it. I found I am much fitter this pregnancy having taken the classes.

If you are in south London, there is always the lovely Kirsty Mathieson.

Greenwich Fitness and Pilates Studio is brilliant.

Moira Clark in Sevenoaks was great when I had SPD. Not sure if too far for you to travel but she used to do Sat am, been a few (well 5) years so timings might have changed.

You want the Little Pilates Studio in Greenwich. Lovely place, lovely people:

limelight I have booked for their class next Saturday. Really looking forward to it! I think all the others mentioned are just too far. We don't have a car so I'm reliant on public transport and also on not feeling knickers out by the journey! Thanks everyone.
