It is years (!) since I was pregnant obviously, please can some of you mums-to-be suggest some clothes, antenatal creams etc. I could buy my daughter which would be useful? Thanks

Congratulations! I'm sure if you read through posts on here you'll find loads of views on things mothers/ mother in laws have purchased. My advice would be to offer to take your daughter on your shopping trip (if geography allows). I could advise on loads of things I've loved but then they may not suit your daughter/ be to her taste. Though it's lovely when people are generous when you're expecting, sometimes it's a little frustrating when you end up with things that aren't that helpful/ your cup of tea etc. Congrat's again.

Congratulations! My mum is also very excited. One of the things she's getting me is a couple of nighties for the hospital - cotton ones with short sleeves that button down the front (for skin-to-skin contact and breast feeding). They were proving difficult to find so it was great that she took over the looking for them.

A dressing gown was my dearest friend in the first couple of weeks post birth - I threw it on when visitors came round, and great for keeping warm in the night feeds.

I napped a LOT in the last two/three weeks of my pg too so wore it a lot then (recalls first meeting with various neighbours and a local cop whilst in said dressing gown sporting flock of seagulls bed hair).

A very good pair of jeans with a big stretchy bump.cover were worn lots too.

And I used tons of bubble bath as I fou d having a bath so relaxing, especially durinf the second half of my pg.

Congratulations! How lovely it will be for your daughter to have such a supportive mother. What about booking a pregnancy massage as a treat for her? They make you feel great and help with the strain once you start to get bigger.

Maternity clothes would be a great idea. Perhaps you could take her shopping, as someone above suggested. A decent coat would probably be much appreciated as we are coming into winter, or properly fitted bras.

If you are the knitting type (not to stereotype grandmas), both my mum and my MIL have gone mad knitting clothes for the baby, which will come in useful.

The kind of things I would like is things I wouldn't necessarily buy myself as classed as a treat so a pedicure or massage.
Someone has also suggested bras which would be lovely or nice maternity clothes that will last throughout.
I would love someone to buy/pay for a cleaner or make some meals for the freezer.

I do like knitting, so will be getting out the needles. She wants to breastfeed, so the nightie idea is a great one too. Her OH's mum is really involved too and both sides of the family are really looking forward to the new addition x.

My partners mum filled a big box full off next clothes, nappies, mittens, cute hats, baby wipes and snow suit. We didnt have a clue about it until she gave it us after are 21 week scan it was a lovely suprise, the box had wrapping paper around it... maybe you could do that :-).

My mum was going to buy us a very costly pram, which she said she is going to do for every grandchild she has... she might regret that haha!
