Do you know of any people that actually had their baby on their due date?

I KNOW it's not going to happen to me (well I suppose there's a 5% chance..) but feeling demotivated and would love to hear some stories about people that actually popped on their due date. Mine is 2 days away and it's only now starting to sink in that I'll be one of the minority that goes over (first baby)

I did, but only because my consultant suggested induction and I nearly bit his hand off Grin

I went into labour on my due date with DC1 but she wasn't born until shortly after midnight the following day. DC2 was 3 days overdue. Hope it goes okay!

WandaDoff · 02/11/2012 14:03

2 out of my 3 DC arrived on their due dates.

DS2 was 4 days early, but that boy has always been in a rush Grin

I did! With 15 mins to spare.

However I think that dd was actually conceived a week earlier due to funny cycles post MC and that she was really a week over due. As was her older brother.

Mintyy · 02/11/2012 14:12

Does it really matter? Some babies arrive on their due date. I think I know of one for certain because I sent my friend a text to say I was thinking of her on her due date and she replied that she was in labour. But if I were to ask all my friends I'm sure some of them would have had their babies on the due date. Its just its such a trifling thing I've never even thought to discuss it.

Good luck with everything op!

Oh it matters when you're pregnant! Even if you try and tell yoursel it doesn't, you feel like it does.

TomsBentPinky · 02/11/2012 14:17

I had DS on his due date and DD too.

Tanyaaah · 02/11/2012 14:17

I did! Was very ready for it.

Yes it does matter, that's the day you psyche yourself up for!

Haribojoe · 02/11/2012 14:20

With DS1 I went into labour on my due date (although he was born the next day as it was a lengthy process) Grin

Whyriskit · 02/11/2012 14:22

Both my boys arrived on their due dates

naturalbaby · 02/11/2012 14:24

Not quite but ds1 was the night before (and ds2 was the morning after). I was all set for another 2 weeks so a bit shocked when my waters broke and I went into labour.

sweetkitty · 02/11/2012 14:28

The last one did only because he was an induction of his due date due to SPD and previous fast labours (I didn't want to have him alone in the house with other DC about no childcare)

ItsMyLastOne · 02/11/2012 17:03

I started contractions with DD1 at 39+4 (the day I finished work) and had her on her due date.

Londonmrss · 02/11/2012 17:38

I did, last week! Although started labour 3 days earlier so maybe it doesn't count...

RedZombie · 02/11/2012 17:49

I worked with a woman who had 3 all on their due dates. Rather surprising considering how spectacularly disorganised she was at work.

Trishstar · 02/11/2012 18:37

My boyfriends mum had 2 out of 6 of her children on their due dates!!! xxx

B1ueberryP1e · 02/11/2012 18:39

I missed my due date by two hours!

thegreylady · 02/11/2012 18:41

Both of mine were born on the due date-ds at 1pm and dd at 3am :)
I didnt realise it was all that unusual at the time. My dd was 3 weeks early with the first and due date with second.

stayathomegardener · 02/11/2012 18:49

Me,me,me!!!

DD was due on DH birthday so obviously that's what was going to happen-Oh the innocence

Went for a big swim the night before with lots of leg kicking.Sure enough next day there she was Smile

javotte · 02/11/2012 19:07

I was born on the due date. All my DCs were overdue.

Cocodale · 02/11/2012 20:50

Yep 3rd daughter born on the day 9 in the evening, complete shock as one early, one late before that.

feesh · 02/11/2012 20:57

My friend's DD1 arrived on her due date (after some are-they-or-aren't-they contractions starting the evening before).

BrigitBigKnickers · 02/11/2012 20:58

DD1 a few hours before her due date and DD2 on her due date!
