Hypnobirthing CD recommendations

Another thread was full of people raving about hypnobirthing so I thought I might try it this time (can't make the whole labour thing worse than first time around!!).

Any recommendations for books/CDs/DVDs? Can't get to classes.

Ta.

Natal Hypnotherapy by Maggie Howell.

CDs are good alone or with classes. Lots of people rate NH on mumsnet. :)

Following amazing reports from some of my clients (I am a Maternity Nurse) I am using the downloads/videos and notes from positive-birth.com. I also did a 2 hour workshop with Kristin who created the downloads etc and it was incredible. I would really recommend it (she also does longer workshops I think but you can just use her online content). I had a discount code for the downloads, I think it was CE10. Anyway I am now 34 wks and really have very little anxiety about birth (1st time mum) and I am sure that it is in part die to the hypnobirthing, there are also breathing techniques etc that you are taught to help with the labour.

I was looking into this last night and found lots of CDs and books on amazon. Many have great reviews... I haven't decided what to buy yet but I'm definitely going to try hypnobirthing.

Hiya

I have Natal Hypnotherapy by Maggie Howell and i'm finding it really relaxing. I guess I won't know until the day whether it works but I figured it couldn't hurt! Smile

I've got the Maggie Howell Natal Hypnotherapy book and CDs and am getting on really well with them. I'm going monstrously overdue so haven't used them through labour yet but I've been very relaxed for sweeps, feel quite calm about the birth and they are good at sending me to sleep at night! I don't really do 'woo' so it took me a few goes to stop snorting with laughter and do the CD properly. From what I've heard about the trademarked HypnoBirthing stuff I think it would be a bit much for me.

I second all those who said Maggie Howell. I used her book and CD for my birth and it was fab. Highly recommend!
