Is this something I should be concerned about or keep an eye on? This is my 2 pregnancy and wasn't aware of any Braxton hicks until at least 34 weeks. Noticed Beaton hicks every few mins since this afternoon. They're completely painless but a little uncomfortable and strange!!!

I'd ring your midwife....

My midwife mentioned them at my 30 week checkup, in a 'you might start feeling' kind of way. I never really felt any until the last week of my first pregnancy, but have been feeling them a lot this time around. (32 weeks)

I've noticed that I feel them a lot more when I am dehydrated, have spent too long on my feet, and have been doing too much lifting and carrying.

Put your feet up, have a drink of water - a big one! - and maybe a bath. If they don't stop after then, I'd think about calling your midwife.

I had braxton hicks around 20ish weeks, on about 3 occasions, at least that's what people told me they were - mine were really painful cramps for about 5-10 mins then they'd disappear. I assumed you only got them towards the end. But as blackcurrants said, it was when I'd been overdoing it a bit. I've been taking it easier and not had them for a while, 32 weeks & all fine at the mo. But yeah check with MW if you're uncertain.

They certainly hurt a LOT on the day I first had them (and had been overdoing it) - have had bump-tightening twinges since, but not "Hang on, these feel like real contractions and that's not fun" BH since them.

I definitely was dehydrated - a long drink and a long bath finally stopped them.

Thank goodness they've stopped now. I did over do it a bit yesterday with the cleaning!!! Even more of an excuse to be a lazy moo now! Thank for the replies

I've been getting them since 16 weeks Hmm this is dc2

I now can't do anything physical at all without getting them ie walk to the car/kitchen/housework. It's very annoying so you have my sympathies

Just to add on my experience (20 weeks, DS2). I posted about my BH a day or two ago. One morning, lying in bed I counted contractions every few minutes. About 10 in about half an hour. I got up, drank, brekkie etc and took it easy for the rest of the day. Had no more and slept well. I think rest and hydration levels are really important.

Interesting to read others are feeling similar at an earlish stage - I'm not alone!!!

2nd DC I started getting them at about 16 weeks. Often aggravated by overdoing it and if dehydrated. When they got really regular and strong was as a result of a UTI. Glad they've gone though.

Strange how our bodies react to things isn't it. Mine was obviously telling me to slow down. It's amazing really. Even though I hate a lot of pregnancy symptoms I am always overwhelmed at the amazing things my body is capable of
