Dp is hoping to have a week after dc is born in Feb and then a week before the Easter holidays (he is a teacher), is this possible?

I know my husband was able to take it in 2 one week blocks last time - will possibly do the same this time.

Legally, no. The legal paternity leave is either one week, or two consecutive weeks.

But some companies/employers choose to be more flexible. It is worth checking if yours will be. They won't be able to reclaim the SPP from the government for the second week if they let you split it, so it is worth checking out the financials too.

I think it has to be two consecutive weeks, have you checked the direct gov website?

Thanks, not had a look but just popping over there now...
