Hi,

No, it would not. Happy birthday!

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 08/10/2012 16:53

Of course not!

SGphotography · 08/10/2012 16:53

I'd go for it, possibly with lemonade to weaken the alcohol or drink it very slowly. Enjoy your birthday!

ladymia · 08/10/2012 16:53

it's a very personal choice. i wouldn't personally i have not touched alcohol and don't plan on.

but happy birthday! :)

StateofConfusion · 08/10/2012 16:55

What ladymia said.

NorthWhittering · 08/10/2012 16:57

I would. A glass of wine isn?t going to do you any harm. Happy birthday!

I've had the odd glass from week 13 onwards. Find me a study that shows that is a problem to bubba and I'll gladly repent ... but there won't be one.

Enjoy!

Midgetm · 08/10/2012 17:08

Absolutely would. I always make sure it's with food. Happy birthday and enjoy. Evidence suggests it will cause no harm at all so also do it guilt free.

sammyleh · 08/10/2012 17:09

Go for it! Happy Birthday Thanks

mummy2benji · 08/10/2012 17:12

Well I'm a GP and studies have shown that there is no harm in an occasional glass of wine during pregnancy. Binge drinking is bad so avoid that but otherwise a glass of your fave vino to celebrate your birthday won't do you or bubs any harm. Hubby and I went out for our last-meal-out-for-a-while last week and I had a glass of chardonnay, which was lovely. Hadn't previously had any booze for over 3 months so I think that counts as 'occasional'! Enjoy :) x

MyDaydream · 08/10/2012 17:12

Go for it (responsibly obviously) and enjoy it! Happy birthday.

DangerMousey · 08/10/2012 17:14

Abso-friggin-lutely :)

I have enjoyed a very small (125ml) glass of very nice wine once a week since about 20 weeks, and it has been such a delicious treat.

I have always had it with dinner, and with a couple of pints of tap water on the side, so it's definitely within the guidelines. If you're in a restaurant, you can always ask them to pour you a smaller 125ml measure, if they list their 'small' as 175ml, which is actually quite big. I have never found a restaurant unwilling to do this.

My only other advice would be to buy a glass fs something disgustingly expensive Grin...well, if you're only having one, it only seems right!

Twotumsellie · 08/10/2012 17:30

i think the majority vote is yes.

One glass can't hurt and i haven't had any booze for months.
and if a dopctor saysits ok... well it would be rude not to!

I'm off home to spruce myself up ready for my lovely meal and glas of wine,
Thanks everyone

:)

I've been drinking a glass a week since the start of pregnancy.

That amount does no harm whatsoever: it is binge drinking or regularly drinking to alcoholic levels which harms a baby, but women have been lead to believe that even an alcoholic chocolate will cause harm...

Have a glass and enjoy it :)
