I assume they aren't but I've packed a packet in my hospital bag . Will the hospital sterilise them for me ?

I doubt it. If you buy a dummy holder you can sterilise a dummy and the holder and take that in with you. It will stay 'sterile' until opened.

If you are planning on breastfeeding then i would probably advise against using a dummy straight away in the hospital. No idea how it works with formula feeding though. I'd say they aren't sterile at first but I know the avent ones I have have caps on them so you could sterilise the dummy and the cap, put the cap back on and then it will be fine. Or you can actually buy a portable dummy sterliser thing.

I'm taking some dummies in with me as well. I have read that the latest research shows that this can help in prevention of SIDS (this is from their website) and does not intefere with breastfeeding. You will need to sterilise them before you go in though.
