Hey, I've just started looking at my options where prams are concerned and was hoping to get some recommendations from you guys in the know...

I'm after a travel system that doesn't cost the earth but has good qualities. The one I lied in ours us doesn't have great reviews on here, its the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System - I Love My Bear.

Any suggestions folks?

Avoid that line the plague, heavy, cheap xbx attic looking, very wide and terrible quality.

Think about what will suit your lifestyle, do you walk w wry where (so don't use a car seat clipped onto buggy use properly flat bit or carrycot). Do you use the bus so need to fold down? Do you drive or do a school run so easy to get on and out of the car?

I would also say get the car seat that fits your car safely first then see if it can be part of a travel system (maxi cosi for example fits on loads of prams to make a travel system).

It is a minefield, ask on products too, loads of us closet pramo's on there BlushGrin

I got the Obaby Zezu on recommendation of a friend... there's about 4 of us with this buggy now and not a single complaint :) Depending on whether you want the full travel system or just parts of it, you can expect to pay up to about £300 which I didn't think was bad at all. Before buying it, I pushed my friends baby around in it and it was so smooth to push, really easy to pack away etc and fits into the back of a Corsa. Winner :) xx

We had the graco Quattro tour deluxe for ds! In fact I'm selling it now because I've had to buy a double buggy.

It's a nice buggy, it's solid yes fairly heavy when folded but only when getting it into the boot it's not like you carry it around with you folded up.
Ds always looked/ felt safe in it, just because it's not one of the top of the range space age looking ones people dismiss it.

Go to toys r us/ mothercare and have a play around with the buggies and see what you like that's what we did.

I've just gone for the Quinny Speedi as we live in the countryside and wanted something heavy duty. We've also got lots of boot room so the fact that it's quite wide and bulky when folded didn't matter so much.

It feels nice and light to push and we got a good deal on it (free carrycot worth 140 quid plus adaptors - whole system cost about 290 and fits the maxi cosi our friend gave us)

It really depends on your lifestyle and budget.

Kafri That's where I got mine from too :)

I got the Graco sports one which I think is similar to the I love my bear one. Came with pram and car seat. I loved it and it fits fine in boot of car even when we had a little vauxhall corsa. It's still going strong and will be used for dc2.

Scroobius · 18/09/2012 18:38

Does anyone know of a similar but cheaper than travel system to the mamas n papas sola? I' ve fallen in love with it; practicality, rear & forward facing, size etc but at over £700 it's a bit pricey since my mum has said she'd like to buy the pushchair...

We got the Babystyle Oyster - but baby not born yet so can't comment on all the practicalities. Got a Britax car seat and isofix for the car and planning to use the car seat for short trips out but also planning on going for quite a few walks early on so got the carry cot too.

A friend has it and says her little boy is very comfy in the pushchair seat and she has no complaints. He's almost a year old I think.

CharlieMumma · 18/09/2012 18:45

Another vote for babystyle oyster. Can fit britax and a maxi cosi carseat. Excellent to push and not to expensive. Ds still loving it at 19months

Kafri · 18/09/2012 21:01

Chezziejo - how do you find the car seat? One big thing putting me off the I love my bear one is that a lot of people seem to say he car seat is too upright therefore causing baby to lump when in it and require extra support which obviously is impossible if baby is in there while I'm driving on my own in the car.

Heard a few good reports about oyster so may look into that.

Can't remember to be honest it came as one big set with the car seat and pram that clips to the buggy. The car seat had a fixed base that stayed in the car as well. Ds was quite happy and comfortable in it and two years old still goes in the pushchair occasionally and loves it. I just remember we got it from kiddicare. Il have a look to see if they still do it but it was over two years ago.

Jojoba1986 · 19/09/2012 12:06

We've got the obaby zezu too! I wouldn't say it's the fanciest looking one & I did feel the need to make an extra soft liner for in pram mode but all in all we're v pleased with it! It's much better in 'off road' type situations than some others - my FiL described it as the 4x4 of prams!
I would recommend shopping around for it though - we got ours from kiddicare because it was the cheapest at the time!
