ARGHHHH!

If one more person says something stupid to me I swear I'm going to go mad ! I'm usually a quiet person, and generally don't let things get to me , I must work with some of the most annoying dumb people out there!

Since announcing my pregnancy I've heard/been told / asked the following

Is insert name of dp here happy?!
Was it planned?
Oh you look really pregnant today
Ohhhh that top/skirt won't fit you for long
Are you going to live together? ( currently we don't live together)
Where are you going to live?
Are you going to move ?
Ohhh you've eaten a lot today!
Careful don't stretch!
Oh you shouldn't be carrying that (it was two folders!)

Arrrrghhhhhh! I think it's because I'm not used to being and dont really like being the centre of attention, the comments about the size of my bump are also driving me nuts ! I showed early and carried all out front with DD and this time is no different! But everyone feels the need to comment on how huuuugggge I am lol I don't think it helps that this time I'm really worried about getting too fat whereas last time with dd (different dp) I didn't care!

Just having a moan really......anyone else getting bored of the constant and stupid comments? Feel free to add ones you have been subjected to!!
Xx

Agreed- I've been getting bombarded with the 'I assume it wasn't planned?' question from practically everyone, since me and my partner are not married. When I reply 'Yes, it was planned' they all look really shocked and I feel like I have to justify my 'out-there' decision!

This baby (no. 2) isn't planned. So how do I tackle that question without sounding reckless and clueless?!

We were using 'natural family planning' which clearly didn't work. My dad (who's one of a few who knows - I'm only 9 weeks) asked specifically what protection we were using when we said it was a surprise. My 64 year old dad!!!! I could have died. I sidetracked by saying it was too personal to answer. I bet he's not the only one who asks; what the hell do I say?!

Just reply with "what business is it of yours?"

I had a mum from my 8 year old son's class come up to me the other day and say "you are MASSIVE" - "ah thanks" - "when is it due?" Well if you don't know when it is due how the hell do you know I am massive ('m 32 weeks - so I'm not going to be small in any case!) I just said " well actually I am small for dates" actually bang on

She then asked if it was an accident - I assume because of the age gap (I also have a 5 year old girl). I said "No, it's just taken 5 years to make the decision on number 3" She clearly heard "It's taken 5 years to conceive" so went bright red, mumbled an apology and left all awkward.

Honestly Angry

Some of these are making me crack up - people really don't think do they?! I still don't think they mean any harm though....

I'm in the luxurious position of people really not knowing what to say, so saying nothing. I guess this is why I can be all laid back and not giving a toss about it really. I was mid divorce when I realised I was pregnant (conceived pre-divorce).... cue rather bemused shocked faces as the cogs whirr in people's brains and you can see them thinking 'who's is it Confused'???????? My PT instructor just said 'errrrrrr, is that good news?????', and my H went through a minor wobble thinking it must be my PT instructor's!!!! The whole situation is hilarious.... like a really bad unbelievable soap opera.

But like I said, there are upsides - no one else dares comment. A mumbled congrats is the worst I have to deal with Grin
