I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Last couple of days I've been getting these feels, like a dull ache reaches a crusheshendo which is mega uncomfortable but not agonising and then eases off. They are now coming about every fifteen minutes.

Obviously thought was Braxton Hicks things people go on about.

Then woke up this morning and my bump has massively grown hugely ovrrnight. DH says he reckons its gone up a third!! Also couple of stretch marks seem to be forming as we speak and hubby reckons bump seems to be lower too.

It can't be time yet. She's still gone eight weeks to go Shock

Is this just normal this time stuff?!

Should add I don't think it's painful enough to be actual labour pains. But massively uncomfortable....

Sounds pretty much par for the course to me now 35 wks into my 3rd pregnancy. But if you are at all concerned then call the maternity unit at your local hospital, the tel. no. is probably in your notes. They will advise/reassure you. About a week/2 weeks ago I experienced exactly what you've described and the thought crossed my mind it might be early labour - it wasn't.

BionicEmu · 15/09/2012 18:35

I would call your MW or delivery suite TBH. As poster above said, it's probably nothing, but this happened to me in my last pregnancy at 33 weeks and I actually was in pre-term labour! (Managed to stall it for a few days so DS ended up being born at 34 weeks).

Marmiteisyummy · 15/09/2012 19:35

I'd definitely phone delivery suite/midwife and ask for advice. As above, it's probably nothing but that regular and peaking like that I think you should check. Preterm labour is not to be messed with.
My braxton hicks were a bit uncomfortable at times, in that they felt tight. But they were never painful.

Sephiroth · 15/09/2012 20:00

I had tightening like you described and it turned out I had a raging urine infection, get checked over by a midwife ASAP this is exactly what they are there for Grin

Rowanhart · 15/09/2012 20:28

Thanks all. Decided to take you advice.

Have rang midwife and they're all busy at the moment. But someone will ring me back.

Got an appointment Monday if all else fails.

Glad you phoned in. Are you still getting pains? Hope things settle.

Rowanhart · 15/09/2012 20:47

It's nt pain exactly its like cramp that gets worse and worse then starts asking off. Making me queasy though Sad

They've actually stopped being as regular. Just had a bath and actually saw my belly properly move for the first time. Must be the growth spurt Grin

Hope it continues to settle. The cramping you describe, without real pain, sounds just like my prelabour which continued for 48 hours on and of until the main event began.
Fingers crossed its just a bit of stretching and movement and all will settle.
Best of luck

I wonder if your baby has done a big turn? If he was transverse he may have engaged. That can affect bump shape and also result in more pains while he settles in. I know when dd engaged I was nauseated for a good couple of days.

Hope everything goes ok, and good luck for the coming weeks.

MyLastDuchess · 16/09/2012 08:33

I was thinking the same about the baby moving; that's the most likely explanation of massive growth overnight!

Good luck tomorrow, I hope it's all ok.

Rowanhart · 16/09/2012 09:31

Thanks all. You've made me feel loads better.

No one rang back guess its a busy night and they mustn't be too worried.

It settled down overnight. Didn't disturb sleep. So will see how go today and may just go to appointment.
