How overdue before induced?

Hi
I'm only just over halfway through my pregnancy so a long way to go yet... but was just wondering how overdue they let you go these days? ConfusedThis is my first so I'm expecting an overdue baby but am already impatient so don't want to have to wait too long! I was 2 weeks late and my DH was 3 weeks late Shock

I went 12 days over it was hell the hospital wouldn't even talk to me until the 11th day and wouldn't confirm if they'd even do it on the 12th day until lunchtime. It was by far the worst part of pregnancy drive me utterly mad but then loved being induced no panicky rush to hospital to be sent home as not progressed enough, it worked first time and was all very chilled out.

That sounds awful Figgygal, glad induction wasn't too scary though.
My PIL were due to go on holiday in the week I am due and have postponed for 2 weeks so am just going to have to try to ignore any pressure (even though my PIL are absolutely lovely, am sure there will be lots of comments from the family the later I get!) and concentrate on waiting until my (hopefully) happy, healthy baby is ready to meet us Smile

It's 14 days here but I believe it varies from 40+10 to 40+14 around the country.
My DS was born without induction at 40+13 so I was very glad our region use the later date!
You can refuse induction but the risk do increase quite a bit after 40+14 and there is newer tendency to believe that risk is higher the older the mum. Those who refuse generally have daily monitoring and frequent scans.
I dreaded the thought of induction, absolutely dreaded it. (I work in hospitals and have seen too many inductions...) but, if I'd gone to 40+14 I'd have accepted induction as a necessity. It's all about making a personal informed choice at that stage.
Chances are you'll be fine! Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

I learned my lesson last time too and this time will be giving the due date to friends and family 2 weeks later than it actually is. The post 40week phone calls and texts are enough to drive anyone bonkers!!
