If you breast fed, when did your periods come back?

Simple as that really. I breast fed ds1 until 9 months and really can't remember when they returned, I assume it's different for everyone but I'm just looking for a rough idea.

It may seem an odd question but we're hoping to try for dc3 fairly soon after dc2 due to medical reasons but wondering if I should stop bf at 6 months this time to give periods a chance to return so we can ttc again.

Thanks in advance for any feedback. Smile

DD bf round the clock, usually hourly, no dummies, no bottles nothing. Periods back 12 weeks in.

DS slept through the night from a few weeks old, feeds efficiently and with some long gaps. He's 12mo and I've just had one sort of v light period.

All completely unpredictable.

Around 3 months after I stopped breastfeeding so around 11 months. My body was like a hormonal war zone for those three months. I was weepy, horribly spotty and moody. It wasn't very nice at all.

I co slept (continued to do so after stopping BFing) and fed on demand for the first 6 months.

My Dr had said that if I don't get my period back 3 months after finishing BF then to go see her. It came back just before that 3 months was up.

22 months, though DD slept through well before then. I was probably feeding four times a day at that stage. Unfortunately their return was accompanied by a serious migraine problem.
