Hi, I'm RH neg too -I wouldn't worry unless you have visible bruising on your bump or sides, or if you are in any kind of unusual pain. It actually takes a lot to cause internal bleeding, and especially from the baby, which is incredibly well padded in there!

If your first pregnancy ended at 10 weeks, then from the point of view of rhesus negativity, this is still your 'first' pregnancy -it is only after 12-14 weeks that it is possible for fetal blood to mix with your own. I mc my first pregnancy at 11 weeks and asked specifically if I needed anti-D but was told it was not necessary at such an early stage.

Hope you feel better soon, and good luck!

Being Rh Neg blood is a pain! If you have been in a car accident, had a bang to your bump that leaves a mark, have any bleeding, even if its slight spotting then you need the anti D injection.

Yes you only need anti D if it is the sort of injury/bash to the bump that could cause internal bleeding. So it needs to be quite hard and quite sharp (rather than pressure all over iyswim). Have you bruised your bump? Do you have any pain where the belt dug in? If not then I wouldn't worry tbh.

As regards your previous pregnancy: If your first pregnancy ended with a surgery (i.e. the foetus was removed surgically) then you should have had anti D after that surgery, even if it was before 12 weeks, as the foetal blood can mix during that surgery. If the foetus passed naturally then you wouldn't have needed anti D as it was before 12 weeks, as cake says.

I'm 37 weeks and rhesus negative. My DS accidentally kicked me in the bump last weekend. There was no bleeding, bruising or mark left. I phoned the maternity unit and was advised to come in and get anti-d injection in case there was a small bleed inside. Apparently they like to give it within 72 hours of the incident.
