Would you go to London from Bristol for one day on a training day at 38 weeks?

Hi
I am going on mat leave next week and I am leaving behind a job that frustrates me a lot and I don't know if I want to go back to.

I have been given the opportunity of a job that I can do from home and hopefully develop and which I find quite exciting.
I have a day training when I am 38 weeks which means travelling to London for the day. For some reason I am quite nervous of being in the tube with my bump (I often go to London and I don't usually mind!).

However, I don't want to miss the opportunity of training for a job that may be much better for me (I don't think it can be re-scheduled).
If I was to go into labour, I would have a few hours to go back to Bristol or go to a London hospital where my boyfriend family lives.... I guess.
This is my first baby, so I guess the chances of going into early labour is fairly low...
What would you do?
Thanks!

I wouldn't. Not necessarily because something might happen but it sounds bloody exhausting as well!

I live and work in London and am still working at 39 weeks and have never needed a baby on board badge. I have found people always give up a seat. And as LondonMrs says, just ask if you happen to be unlucky and they don't.

Though actually on topic I am not sure I would go, although I totally see why you want to. I'm working up to the day before my due date and have meetings across london, but worst case scenario, I am only an hour from home. I am sure I'll be overdue though - and it's good to be busy.

Could you ask if the training could be done remotely? Could your OH drive you maybe? Is it really the only chance to do the training?

Just go you'll be fine at 38 weeks I did a 200 mile round trip to deliver training, and forgot my notes Blush seriously you'll be fine I'm sure there's one or two hospitals in London if baby comes quicklyWink and it'd be a great story!
