Here are my symptoms, has anyone has this before? Im 39 weeks pregnant.

. Having the constant urge to go to the toilet to have a bowel movement.

. 90% of the time its very little to nothing thats coming out although it is very soft.

. Constantly uncomfortable and in pain and therefore actually find the only thing that relieves the discomfort slightly is going to the toilet.

. Been going on for over a fortnight and i'm unbelievably fed up of it, seems to be getting me down a lot since i can't leave the house due to pain/not trusting my bowels.

. Been to GP and midwife and nobody seems concerned and have simply said my body is preparing for labour.

Anything u could advise that would help ease the discomfort, even slightly? Or does anyone have any positive stories...

Have tried baths/showers, paracetamol, hot water bottles all which help for all of 2 minutes and im back to square one again!!!

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like piles to me. Might be worth trying anusol or asking gp to have a look. Hope you fel better soon.

I'd go back to the mw/GP again and ask them to check you over. No sign of a show or anything else more "obvious" to suggest labour might be imminent I assume?

Explain that as you've now had the symptoms for a fortnight you're rather fed up as you'd rather be nesting than constantly on the loo...

You have my sympathy - DD was breech so spent most of her time stamping on my bladder so I was going for a wee every blooming hour even in the night.

Everyone kept telling me it was mother natures way of preparing me for sleepless nights with a newborn which was utter rubbish, slept SO much better when baby arrived as she only woke every couple of hours for milk! Grin

At least if it is baby poking you about which is causing the pressure on your bottom, at 39 weeks the end is in sight! But worth getting checked over in case it is piles or something.

Sending good labour vibes to you! Smile

Oh, you have my sympathy!! Late pregnancy sucks, sucks, and sucks again....

Can you maybe think of things to relax you/get you out of your head? I'm feeling spectacularly crap (38 plus 2 w/ DC3) and I find watching funny films/MNing/having a glass of red wine at night (shhhh) and nice food: There's a quotation that goes something like: 'Better to be miserable in comfortable surroundings' that I'm currently living by :)

But I SO hear you......

Sounds awful. I'm 32wks and have a very wriggly/punchy baby inside who is causing me all sorts of pains.

You could try my emergency "the baby is trying to get out!" position:
Get on all fours then sink down onto your elbows to take the baby away from your bottom. Of course it only works for as long as you can keep your bum in the air but it might help temporarily!

Failing that, what Chocolate said Smile

Marmite - thanks ill give that a try. Only spoke to my midwife and GP yesterday and they didn't even mention anything about piles! Think ill be arranging another appointment.

Blondie - i had the tiniest bit of blood tinged mucus a couple of weeks ago, and the past day or two have noticed a slight increase in discharge but other than that nothing. I do have constant cramping and back ache but I've been putting that down to my body preparing since i haven't had any BH or tightenings. Thanks very much! I totally agree with the sleepless nights things, i would much rather be waking for a snugly newborn than a bathroom trip any day iykwimGrin

Chocolate - great advice! The glass of wine sounds especially appetisingGrin will give those things a go! I get very frustrated when i get all comfortable to watch a movie as it seems to be the best time for my bowels and cramps to play up to there most! But hey, try and try again eh!

Corona - ill try that too. It does seem to make a lot of sense actually! Thanks for the advice!

Sending all you lovely ladies nice pregnancy vibes and thankyou for the responses!!!
