38+1: baby going wild, could things be moving?

I have some very mild cramping going on and some shooty pains, but the baby has never moved this much before. Could this be it? Or just BH? Shall I go for a walk or have a nap; it eases if I lie down...

HELP!!!

I would have a nap! Only because if this is it you might need all the energy you can get, unless you want to get it going then move around as much as you can and see what happens.

Both my labours started off with period type pains.

I would quite like to get it going, but i will be very knackered in work tomorrow if it comes to nothing!

You have my sympathies. I also had period type pains yesterday/baby going wild and got so excited I might actually have this baby... only to realise it was a whole load of nothing :(

Maybe there was something in the air yesterday. I had cramps, tightenings and mild contractions. Figured about 9 I should try and get a nap as I was sure things were kicking off. Nothing! Rubbish.

Not to want to worry you, but if the baby is getting very much more mobile than usual, it might be worth getting it checked out - sometimes this can indicate distress (like, if it was tangled in the cord or something).

Are you still getting some movement now?

Yup still regular squirms & I saw the midwife today for a quick check up and everything seemed fine. I wondered if the BHs could be squeezing the baby and making him wiggle? Anyway, baby was engaged so hopefully won't have to wait long :)

Aargh! I've had that today too Angry Grin

Oh brill Smile

I'm glad all is well. I will tell you now - I read an awful thing on here once, about a woman whose baby became very, very active suddenly and then went very still - it had got tangled up and very sadly died.

So I always tell people to get checked out if there is anything unusual in terms of activity. It must be rare, but just in case.

Oh EdMcDunnough that is such a sad sad story, how awful; stuff like this worries me sick! Wish we had a window to see in and check up on them :(
