Try bananas and milk - calcium, magnesium and potassium help.

MooMa42o · 02/09/2012 22:44

don't have any advice sorry, it reminded me of mine and how frustrating it was, still get it from time to time now. i just wanted to sympathise...

ChocolateIsAFoodGroup · 02/09/2012 22:46

At least two bananas a day. Also hot bath. Milk. Get your DP to rub your legs.

And my latest, greatest trick: An orgasm before you settle for the night; relaxes your mind :)

Being a lp needn't stop you Grin

Oh I feel your pain, I was bride myself with them in early pregnancy, I went to local health food shop where I got some zinc and magnesium pills which I was told would help, also with added vit b6.

Coincdence or not it worked, and I also never suffered with morning sickness, have heard anecdotal evidence that b6 helps with nausea so it was win win Smile

Short term I prescribe leg rubs.

TeaBrick · 02/09/2012 22:58

Pregnancy vits helped me, and also standing on the bottom step of the stairs with my heels hanging over the egde to get a really good calf stretch. Also doing some walking during the day will help.

I'm 34 weeks and had RLS from about week 18-30. It got so bad that I was only sleeping about 2-4 hours a night. I have since found out that I'm really anemic and after a few weeks of iron it's noticeably better, I can sleep normally again and it isn't bothering me too much in the evenings. It might be worth getting your feritin levels checked as it's a symptom of iron deficiency.

I really hope you get it sorted out soon, it's unbearable and you have my sympathy!

crackcrackcrak · 02/09/2012 23:18

That's a good point about the iron. I have stacks of spa tone but I got lazy about taking it. In the first few weeks of I didn't take it I could hardly get out of bed but apart from the annoying legs I've been fine for months.
I am really suffering at night I will crack in with the iron forthwith. Thanks all Grin

Good to know! I actually sleep with a big glass of milk by my bedside, and that does the trick throughout the night. Also, sleep semi-sitting up helps if you get acid reflux later on (milk helps with this too).

Let us know if you try the other tips Grin

crackcrackcrak · 03/09/2012 19:48

No acid reflux and I'm 32 weeks so hope to escape that!
I bought irn bru today thinking it would taste nicer than tonic water - wrong!!!! It's the foulest drink ever!
I've been drinking lots milk today and do far so good. I recall now with dd1 I drank gallons because I craved it - maybe that's why I didn't get it with her.
