I wasn't planning on getting a new mattress for bump but ours from DD was used for 2 years and has been in the attic so I am going to get a new one, pretty sure I need a continental size, does any one have any recommendations of cheap places/websites to get one from?

I second Thunder's recommendation. They were very good.

Third vote for baby mattresses onine, lots of choice, they were really helpful with my queries and mattress arrived 2 days later ( for a crib). I found the website a bit confusing though - seemed to have multiple options for the same things (with different prices).

Got mine form boots.com. Choice and boots points. I like boots points Blush

I have bought mattresses from mothercare in the past which have been ok, my latest cot and crib mattresses were bought from babies r us when they had a 20% off mattresses offer along with a 20% off weekend, worked out pretty cheap! Depends what kind of mattress you are after as to where you will get the best deal - sprung or foam, waterproof layer etc.

Wrt baby mattresses online: I placed an order for a carrycot mattress 2 weeks ago tomorrow which I am still waiting for Hmm hopefully early this week it will arrive!

Ooh should also add that I was advised by my MW to avoid sprung mattresses until they go into bed of some sort as before this they will generally be too light to flex the springs so will essentially be lying on solid surface.

I had a sprung mattress for DS though and never had issues although he never slept a whole night until he went into a single bed at the age of 3 but not sure how much this had to do with discomfort add opposed to just not wanting to sleep Hmm

DD is on a Mothercare mattress, because we have a MC cot and it is stupid size 58cmx 122cm, and only the MC mattress would fit.

It was about £35 and is fine.
