Baby Weavers nursing chair

Can't find the right section for my question so hoping someone out here will know...

I'm 35wk with DS2 and I'm seriously nesting. My nursing chair is looking pretty grubby and I NEED to clean it before baby arrives.

Can I take the bits that come off to the dry cleaners? What about the stuff that doesn't come off? How can I wash it???

Thanks

Any fabric usually has a washing instuctions label on it. If it hasnt got one, and there doesnt appear to be any zips to take the covers off then i would suggest steam cleaning it. Anyone who steam cleans carpets for a living will be able to do this.

Depending on your area, i should imagine it would be about £50 for someone to come to the house and do it.

I havent brought a nursing chair, i didnt know whether i would get any proper use out of it once baby starts sleeping through. Are they any good?

Thanks. I may be a bit dim but I can't see any cleaning instructions.

I had bought a steam cleaner from amazon but annoyingly it didn't work - I might look for another one as I really want to give my pram a good clean too.

Re: the chair, I only bought mine when DS was about 10 month old, so I can't really tell you if it's any good for nursing. I only bought it because a friend of mine was selling it for £80 and that I knew I would have more kids and that I could never get comfy when breastfeeding DS. We've been using it for stories ever since and it's the most comfortable chair we have so I have high hopes for this time. I can see myself breastfeeding comfortably in it and even falling asleep in it without breaking my back.

If you have the money, go for it, otherwise look for a second hand one as you'll save so much money.

How strong is your nesting urge? This may turn into a labour thread Grin

well... I'd definitely say that something is up, I'm not myself. I'm utterly floored by exhaustion and woke up at 5.30am this morning panicking of all the stuff I needed to put in my hospital bag.

Can't remember being like this with DS... eeek!

I love labour threads, so I'll let mumsnetters know when I think it's kick starting!

Littlesugarplum Yes yes yes. I used mine loads and DS is 3 now and it's still in his room. We sit and snuggle up at bedtime on it to read stories. Definitely worth it!

back When they are newborn, do you just use it for nightfeeds? Or would you also feed them in the chair during the day?

backwardpossom · 27/08/2012 16:03

I had quite a tough birth, so spent most of the first couple of weeks upstairs and sat in it for a lot of the day. It was used mostly at night though.
