I'm 34 weeks and am planning what to wear in hospital after c-section and for the first few weeks mooching round the house.

I am aware that I'm still going to have a belly :/

Any suggestions of where I can pick up some flattering and comfy tracky bums/yoga pants would be much appreciated. I dont mind if they cost a little bit more if they are going to last.

Thank you!

I bought some comfy yoga pants from Dorothy Perkins online. They were only about £10 each and have a fold over waist band to accommodate after the birth.

seabuckthorn · 26/08/2012 15:12

Bumping this because I would like the same!

DeeLite · 26/08/2012 15:20

I got these last time round and they were amazing lovely but expensive lounge wear.

Sweaty Betty's also good.

I also bought a few pairs of wide legged legging type things in Primark's underwear section. Great for at home but don't think you could go further than the front gate in them.

I got some from H&M but they were on the sale - hope they still have them. Jigsaw also sometimes do some nice trousers with stretchy waistband, might be worth a look.

newtonupontheheath · 26/08/2012 18:28

I've got the Dorothy Perkins ones too. They're really comfy! Managed to pick them up in the sale, but they'd be worth paying full price.

Craftyone · 26/08/2012 18:33

I found that i couldn't bend down to pull up/put on trousers after a c-section. I wore a long buttoned nightdress (not the granny type) and a long dressing gown (m&s) . I did however master the art of picking up things from the floor with my toes!! A skill that is a must after a c-section :)

Thai fisherman pants were great both in the last bits of pregnancy and post baby in hospital, as they are completely adjustable on the waist- good for bumps, sore tumm, and very very airy, good for letting the air flow (massive pants and maternity pads make it all a bit hot -tmi but true!)

Tesco actually have some very comfy yoga trousers & some soft stretchy pyjama bottoms. The pyjamas are v similar to the M&S ones but much comfier & cheaper.

I've currently got my 34 week waist stretching a pair of size 18s at the moment, they're so comfortable, and come in black with a matching button vest top.

DeathMetalMum · 26/08/2012 21:07

Mothercare yoga pants £20 anf worth every penny soo comfatable. The have a fold over waistband which is really good. During the ladt few weeks if pg and first feew weeks after the birth I pretty much didnt have them on if I was out of the house (was pg in winter and they are a little lightweight) or they were in the wash.

I have alredy worn them this time around and Im only 11 weeks.

HaggisNeepsTatties · 26/08/2012 21:09

I've got a couple of pairs of sweaty Betty warrior pants that are great. Top folds over so at the moment goes over or under bump depending how I feel, and I imagine will be comfortable in case of c-section.

NoComet · 26/08/2012 21:24

Sports Direct provided DD1s school ones. Nice and soft you'd just need a size or two bigger than normal.

M&S might have something mine are 100s of years old and still going strong.

Next catalogue had lots of lounge wear.

Emmiedarling · 26/08/2012 21:34

Thank you for all the suggestions. I shall get online and buy some tomorrow!

I had a lovely pair of maternity yoga bottoms from gap. I didn't end up doing much yoga in them but they were so comfy, I wore them lots anyway Smile

violetlights · 26/08/2012 23:10

I add my vote to Dorothy Perkins. After lounging about in them every evening I've bought a third pair a size smaller for post birth... :)

DuchessofHaphazard · 26/08/2012 23:10

One thing you want to make sure of if you're having a C-section (and this goes for pants as well), is that the waist of whatever trousers you were goes well over your scar - high-waisted is good. I had a couple of pairs where the waistband would roll down over the scar which was horribly painful...

Emmiedarling · 27/08/2012 13:19

Rubbbish Dorothy Perkins ones sold out in everything but 6!

I swear, the best single item (items, because I ended up buying them in several colours) during and after pregnancy/C-section were yoga pants from the Gap Body range. They tie at the ankle, are made from soft jersey, and have a soft fold-down waistband you can wear over or pulled above your scar. I wore them all through my pregnancy and for weeks afterwards, and they expanded and contracted with me!

Emmiedarling · 27/08/2012 18:16

Thanks Peevish. I'll look now. So, they're not maternity? Just in the body range?

I've just ordered £9.50 M&S roll top yoga pants.
Had mainly good reviews on the website so I thought I would see what they are like.
I will check the GAP ones out too.

seabuckthorn · 27/08/2012 19:59

Are these the ones?

I love Manuka yoga trousers. They are soft, thick and wash/wear really well. I'm normally size 8-10 but bought a pair today in a 12. The waist band rolls down or up so I'm hoping the will work with a bump. The waist band stitching is nice and low so doesn't dig in. I got them from TK Maxx for £14.99 (RRP £46.00).
I'm only 13 weeks with my first baby so no bump or previous knowledge but hope this helps!
