3dds are currently sat having a "carpet picnic" as I am to bloody sick to make them a decent dinner.

We have a bowl each of pizza/crisps/cheese bites/strawberries/grapes.

They think it's the coolest thing ever but I'm so fed up feeling like this.

Lost a baby late on last year so they were really upset and I want to keep this from them as long as possible (only dh and bf know and I'm only 8 weeks :()

So so fed up, feel like im the only one not coping.

First of all congratulations! Secondly, a carpet picnic is a fabulous idea which I will be stealing to use on my DS when he's old enough. Thirdly, sorry you feel so horrid; my only tip for morning sickness is Haribo Tangfastics or any other fizzy sour sweets.

It will feel better eventually. Have you spoken with DH about how you're feeling?

DC1 lived on baked beans & toast or cheese & toast meals for about 6 weeks in my pregnancy with DC2. He was fine, yours will be, too. :)

Oh congratulations and please don't feel like you're not being a proper mum. A carpet picnic works well - we call it party tea - and with the fruit you've included in there it's actually quite a good meal.
Take it easy and go easy on yourself.

I am also 8 weeks. DS and I had a Chinese takeaway earlier this week as DH was stuck in traffic and I puke everytime I open the kitchen cupboards.

I spend most of my time when I'm not at work either curled up in bed or laid out on the sofa with DS playing boats around me. I am not being the most attentive mother at the moment.

I was having a moan to DH last night and described it as being in my 5th week of feeling fucking awful. Only 8 more to go if my last pregnancy is anything to go by...

congratulations on your pregnancy!

i'm 31 weeks and have been feeling like hell right the way through, i feel like i'm always saying no to my DS "no mummy can't run with you", "no mummy can't carry you", "no mummy can't jump up and down!" but a carpet picnic sounds really positive, you're doing something fun for them and it sounds like you're coping really well in a tough situation. hopefully you'll feel better soon and in the meantime your kids probably think you're the coolest mum ever.

i'm totally having a carpet picnic tomorrow, i might even invite DS...not sure how i'm going to get up off the carpet though.

Thanks everyone, I just keep hoping this all passes at 12 weeks.

I'm at the stage where I can only eat everything once, after feeling it swirling about for hours after I have eaten something I am never brave enough to try it again.

Dh is great but is in the forces and leaves next week till my due date Confused

I feel exactly the same and I'm also eight weeks. I feel sick from when I wake up to when I go to bed. Poor DD (2.5) has been watching Disney films and playing alone in the garden for two weeks now.

Last time I was still ill at 20 weeks - I cry when I think this might last that long. I'm back at work in a fortnight - which terrifies me!

Goldrill · 25/08/2012 20:18

We talked about having a carpet picnic earlier on: I pointed out to DP that there was probably enough food stuck to the carpet for us not to have to bother putting any more out Blush. I'm 33 weeks and feel fine and only have one DD to cope with - and I'm still finding it hard work and can't be arsed wth cleaning etc - I have no idea at all how I would have coped with 3 and think you must be pretty phenomenal to be keeping them cheerful when you're feeling rubbish op. I hope the sickness eases off soon.

Adviceinscotland · 25/08/2012 21:05

I'm half thinking about asking the midwife at my booking appointment if she can give me anything?

I've always refused in the past even when I have been really ill but I really can't face being on my own with three and feeling like this.

Can you get anything for just feeling sick (even though I run to the toilet and retch a dozen times a day nothing comes up)
