I somehow managed to get away with no stretch marks when pg with DD, well apart from one tiny one on my bum but it's all but disappeared now and I didn't find it till 2 weeks after she was born so it doesn't really count!

So this means I'll get none this time, right?

RIGHT?

Hmm

I got them in my teens too, on my thighs as I shot up so fast - no stretch marks during any of my three pregnancies though despite having big babies Grin

mumofthemonsters808 · 21/08/2012 22:58

None for me from 2 babies, I think it's a genetic thing my Mum and Sister have none either.Plenty of other unsightly things though.

ItsMyLastOne · 22/08/2012 08:24

I'm actually really surprised at how positive this all sounds, I thought I was doing some serious wishful thinking even contemplating not getting them again!

3 children and hardly any stretch marks.

MissPollysTrolleyed · 22/08/2012 10:08

None with DC1 and I'm 34 weeks now with DC2 and have none yet. My mother didn't get any until her third pregnancy and I'm stopping at two children so I'm hopeful to avoid them.

RillaBlythe · 22/08/2012 10:09

None with dc1. Some with dc2. She was the same weight. Only a handful & a year later they wouldn't stop me wearing a bikini, it's not as bad as I dreaded.

ArtyJennie · 22/08/2012 10:19

Used palmers coco butter everyday with both. No stretch marks with no1. I'm now 40weeks today - still no stretch marks (much bigger thus time too!)

WigGold · 22/08/2012 10:24

Not a single mark with no.1, totally mullered with no.2.

MarshaBrady · 22/08/2012 10:24

I didn't with either.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 22/08/2012 10:31

None with either. Don't know why. I didn't use any special creams/ oils etc (just normal Nivea Q10 stuff). I reckon it's genetic as my mum didn't get any either. Also, both my babies were fairly small (below 7lbs) and I didnt gain that much weight (less than 2 stone each time), which I suppose must help.

InTheNightGarden · 22/08/2012 10:38

I jolly well hope your right! first time round I didn't get one single mark + my tummy pinged back into shape!! I was amazed!! I'm now 14weeks preg and praying I get the same treatment hahaa, just my luck I get stretch mark hell though!

:) HAPPY THOUGHTS :)

WizardofOs · 22/08/2012 10:40

3 DCs and no stretch marks. Lots of weight put on. Must have very elastic skin.

SuperSesame · 22/08/2012 10:45

I'm very curious about this too. Only have DC1 who was a 8lb+ and I'm quite skinny. As soon as I got my BFP I used bio oil twice a day and I don't know if it helped or not but stretch mark free. He was 8 days late and I was sure I would get some as my bump was ginormous.
Now trying for DC2 and will definitely get some more bio oil for when (if!) I get my BFP.
I've heard its genetic but my Mum and two sisters all have stretchmarks from pregnancy and also hip marks from puberty. I avoided those too.

ScrambledSmegs · 22/08/2012 10:56

None with first pg. I've got a few now I'm pg with DC2, but think that's because I was lazy and didn't moisturise at all till about 22 weeks. I use rosehip oil, can't stand the smell of bio-oil.

ItsMyLastOne · 22/08/2012 11:05

I used bio oil a few times last pregnancy and haven't used anything this time.

I did put on almost 4 stone last time, and I'm well on my way to doing the same this time. Maybe I should stop eating so much chocolate, that might help... Maybe...

None with dc1. I got a couple with dc2, but nothing massive.

I was worried about same thing and found plenty of people did get them second time though.

Thumbwitch · 22/08/2012 11:09

I didn't get any first time around (aged 40) and so far, I haven't got any with DC2 (now 32+3). Hoping that will continue to be the case. :)

I believe that taking fish oils throughout has helped to avoid them, as both my mum and sister got terrible stretch marks (and I know they're supposed to have a genetic basis as well). Haven't done anything else, no creams or anything.

BalloonSlayer · 22/08/2012 11:10

I started a thread about this a while back.

I got stretchmarks when I was a teen on my thighs but none when pregnant, when there was a lot more stretching going on. I had my babies at the age of 35, 37 and 43. I reckon that the older you are the less likely you are to get stretchmarks. The experience of most people on my thread supported this hypothesis.

How old are you, ItsMyLastOne ?

gazzalw · 22/08/2012 11:12

DW didn't with either of the DCs at all, whereas I, who grew about 6 inches in one year as a teenager, have stretch marks on my back - not at all sexy on a man ;-(

ItsMyLastOne · 22/08/2012 11:14

Hmm interesting Balloon. I'm 26, was 24 when I had DD and got the puberty ones aged 10-13. I like your thinking.

No stretch marks from 2 pregnancies. Loads on my legs from teenage beanpole growth spurt though.

droves · 22/08/2012 11:20

First pg none (didnt get past 11 weeks)
2nd pg none ( oldest birth child )
3rd pg none ( late mc)
4 rd pg loads ( second birth child)
5th pg none ( third birth child
6th pg none ( early mc)
7th pg turned into purple person ( twins )

I think it just your luck , how good your skin is , how much weight you put on and how active the baby is that determines if you get stretch marks .

RillaBlythe · 22/08/2012 11:35

OP, I got puberty stretchmarks. Was 24 when I had dd1, didn't get any. Was 27 when I had dd2, got stretchmarks!

StrikeAPose · 22/08/2012 12:18

DD1 - none
DC2 - none yet (am 25 weeks)

LoopyLa · 22/08/2012 12:57

My Mum had 4 kids and never had a stretch with any of them - and never used a drop of lotion, body butter, bio oil either.
