Morning
I am 5 weeks pregnant and its my first. Simce I have found out I have been checking for blood everytime I go to the toilet and checking my breasts for soreness almost obsessivly.
The past few days they have been really sore and firm but this morning they are pretty much back to normal.
Is everything ok?

I'm afraid you will worry, particularly at this stage before your first scan and in the early days. You'll worry if you're sick, or if you're not sick, about how sore your boobs are from day to day, if your temperature goes up or down. If it's of any help I can assure you that my boobs were exactly as you describe at first, so sore I had to immediately buy maternity bras and wear them round the clock - but before very long they had calmed down a lot and I was still very much pregnant.

This is normal to feel like this with your first! Impossible but try and relax a bit until you get to 12 weeks. I remember checking my pants constantly with DS as worried I was bleeding! Same with worrying about boobs etc etc.

Thank you, I just can't stop and I know keeping calm will help but its so hard. I joined mumsnet yesterday and have read a lot of threads, everyone is so helpful and supportive I just hope that I get to stay on my journey and update with happy progress xx

Laura I am 11+1 and still knicker checking and panicking a lot. It is hard, you do over analyse everything but just try and keep it in perspective.

There is nothing you can do to stop yourself miscarrying, if it is going to happen it will and symptom spotting and knicker checking isn't going to stop that.

I was given one great piece of advice, schedule in 30 minutes a day to worry, any time outside that isn't allowed and you just have to tell yourself that you can think about it all at 7.30, weirdly it did help a bit.

Good luck!

Your boobs hurt because they are growing. They grow in spurts rather than constantly increasing in size and so will be painful some days and not on others.

That's my theory anyway! Grin

Hi I'm just over six weeks and I've been exactly the same felt terrible friday but then better. And randomly worse in afternoon than morning! But the only constant is change.

Was completely different with DS but speaking to people on mn this does not automatically mean a miscarriage. I'm petrified of a missed miscarriage after it happened to a friend.

if it helPs I've found this week that my symptoms are worse the more I do in a day. No idea why.

Congrats by the way

Welcome to the wonderful world of baby cooking! At 22+ weeks, ve come to the conclusion that every single day there is something to worry me. From what I gather, every mummy o be is exactly the sama and al the mw I've frantically spoken to have reassured me that not only am I not the only one fretting, it also doesn't stop when bubs arrived. :-D

I found out I was pg extra early due to IVF and ticking h da off seems to take a lifetime-but!!! Somehow I have ticked off 22 weeks, along with every other mum on here. Try to enjoy it and take the worries in your stride, after all you'll have plenty more to come before bubs arrives safe and sound ;-) xx

Oh I was the same and had some days when I felt less sore and worried about it too! It is difficult not to! Hopefully all will progress well!

Mumsnet is great- I have received so much support when I have popped up my panic posts!!!!
