How to cope with 1st trimester tiredness...

Because I am only 7 weeks and already losing the will to live.

4th pg so you would think I would be used to it but it's so much worse this time.

I work full time so can't rest during the day, dh is about the leave for 6 months somewhere I don't want him to be & even though I am totally fecked I can't get a good nights sleep.

Any herbal stuff or old wives tales I can try to keep myself amused?

Congratulations on your pg. am pg with 3rd and I just can't seem to get the rest I need with looking after the other two boys.

Don't know of any remedies I'm afraid.

But a good multi vitamin, eating little and often, keeping hydrated and cat napping for twenty minutes (literally just 20mins) whenever possible helped through through the first trimester.

Thankfully I've had no problems through the second trimester but I'm waiting for the third trimester tiredness to kick in.

All the best Wink

Hi there

Get some Floradix which is a liquid iron supplement with no side effects. You can buy it in pharmacies and Holland & Barrett. I am also pregnant with no. 4 and was exhausted beyond belief. I honestly think it has made a difference. I am still tired but very able to get through the day with 3 small children and sleeping well at night. (I also go to bed at about 8.30 which is very boring but does help a lot)

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon

I have pretty much spent the last ten weeks lying either in bed or on the couch saying "thank god I don't have any other children"! No advice but you are all absolute heroes. Grin

Thanks everyone.

For some reason today has been more bearable but I got the dinner prepped at 9.30 this morning just incase

I will try and get hold of some off that stuff though!

Can you put your head down for 20 mins at lunchtime at work? I find even a little nap helps when I've got that bone-crushing exhaustion.

I'm on number 4 too. Luckily dd3 is quite easy and dd1/2 old enough to help with housework/cook so I do a lot of sitting in the evenings and very early nights!

oh yes definitely don't know how mums manage the tiredness with other kids to look after. Can't seem to manage to look after me! lol

Congratulations Advice - We sound very similar. 4th pregnancy for me too, 9 weeks, with 3DS under 5 and working full time. I feel like I am hallucinating at work and keep having to go and sit in the loo with my head on the toilet roll holder to shut my eyes. Also very nasueous and permanently eating. Don't remember being this tired with my other pregnancies so am just assuming it is because I am normally absoutely exhausted without being PG.
I know my work has a first aid room with a bed in it that once I have told work I am PG I would be able to use to lie down in if feeling dreadful - I just don't want to tell them yet.

DS3 is getting up anytime from 5 at the moment, and with working FT it is only about 9.30 that I can get to sleep. All I can recommend is sleep as soon as you can and make DH get up in the night to little ones.
Huge sympathies.
