Achey undercarriage - TMI

Anyone else suffering from a really achey fanjo? This is a new development for me, i'm 22+4 and for the last couple of days have what feels like bruising between my legs, also am a bit constipated which makes my bum hurt and I feel uncomfortable when I wee although I don't think I have a UTI as there is no burning and it doesn't hurt, maybe a little cystitis perhaps?

Basically all my undercarriage is uncomfortable at the moment. Is this normal?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It sounds like it could be the beginnings of SPD?

You don't have to have burning to have a UTI though; if you're having trouble weeing I'd visit a nurse or MW and get them to test your wee.

Hey, yep I have SPD/pelvic girdle pain and the main symptom for me is what feels like bruised ladybits. I was explaining it to DP as it feels like when you've been on a really long bike run (i.e. sat in the seat too long) and your undercarriage feels all tender and bruised the next day. You could ask your midwife for a tubigrip to wear round your bump to offer support or if it gets a lot worse then maybe a referral to physio for a support band

Definitely normal. In my last pregnancy we had a free physio session (love the NHS!) at about 22 weeks and I was the only one without this sort of pain, out of about 8 of us. I never developed it, but did get SPD towards the end, so ime the two don't always go together.

I actually did have the sitting on a bike too long pain the other day (am 26/27 weeks with dc2, lost track Grin ), for a couple of days, now it's just gone Confused

it could be spd, mention it to your midwife and you can see a physio.

but i also found that just the increased blood flow down there meant i felt a bit bruised and tender, you can also get culcal varicose veins and they can feel sore and bruised as well.

Vulval not culcal!

Thanks for the replies.

It sounds like SPD, I have had a little look online and certannly meets most of the symptoms. I have made a docs appmt this avo though to have my wee checked and rule out a UTI.

Should I ask for a referral or wait to see what she advises?

ask for a referral as the sooner the better with spd, there may be a waiting list as well.

Well I went to the doc and she tested my wee, it's clear.

She had a look and feel and said there was no obvious veins poking out or anything causing it to be uncomfortable.

So I guess it could be SPD then?
