Can anyone recommend where to buy from?
I'm not bothered about super sexy type (yet) just some comfortable bras to start with.

Last time I didn't get fitted & I should've.

I bought one bra from Bravissimo during this pregnancy & whilst they said all the right things during fitting, the bra I ended up with was really uncomfortable after about 45 mins of wearing, so I'm not too convinced going back there.

Any good experiences of fitting & product?

Thanks.

I can totally recommend www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/

Good choices, good prices, food customer service and free p&p. I had crappy M&S maternity bras with dd1 and promised
myself nicer and better ones this time around. I ended up with Carriwell ones www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ShowDetails.asp?id=252 which are lovely, comfy ad supportive.

Thanks sleepy did you go somewhere else & get measured first?

Sorry, should have said! No, I didn't get measured, the Carriwell ones are just sized S -XL from memory and you select your size depending on your normal bra size. There is a grid table thing to consult on tbr site. They're not a fitted bra as such, but made from very stretchy material that stretches with you to accommodate milk filled boobs and emptier boobs, lopsided milk filled boobs etc. they really are v comfy and stretch well when needed (like this morning when I woke up looking like Jordan as dd2 had slept longer than usual!)

I couldn't find local shops that sold them to try first, and in actual fact, I ordered the M and ended up returning it and getting a L instead. It comes with an extender catch too in case you need a bit extra at the back. I've not got a massive chest normally, but seem to have increased cup size quite a bit since giving birth. Normally a 38A/B and I reckon my cup size is a C/D at the mo.

HTH - it's free p&p so worth having a try if you like the sound of it.

I also had a really good experience with the Nursing Bra Shop. As I recall, they were a small family business were really lovely to deal with and stocked a good range of bras, quick cheap delivery etc.

I measured myself in Mothercare and then got a few different ones from the Nursing Bra Shop and sent back any that weren't really comfy.

I got mine from the nursing bra shop online as well - just ordered a few and sent back the ones that didn't fit/weren't comfortable. They (or figleaves) have a much better selection than anywhere else I've found

Finding bras that fit correctly during pregnancy and after has been the bane of my previous and current pregnancies!!

I know your frustration - going to get fitted, being told you're different sizes in different shops and then feeling uncomfortable the next day in your new bra, when you thought it was going to be amazing and comfy!

I have: Elle Macpherson (pricey!), Debenhams, M&S (ok, cheap), Bravado (comfy)... I find the biggest challenge is getting away from the 'mono-boob' look and giving support whilst being comfortable.

Good luck!

Have u tried the Emma Jane ones that stretch etc with you? Dot know how good they will be for large of nork

but they are comfy for me

I had the same problem with Bravissimo OP. I bought 2 bras early on in my pregnancy and they seemed fine in the shop, but were so uncomfortable after less than an hour of wearing them. They pinched really badly and rubbed me sore. Bravissimo were very good though and let me exchange them for a different style which have been fine. I really don't think they fitted me properly the first time.

I have been back and bought 2 nursing bras, so I'll see how I get on with them (3 weeks til baby's due). I was more aware of what to look out for this time, and didn't just listen to their spiel.

With my last child I had a couple from Debenhams and a couple from M&S, and they were ok, but didn't really do much. They didn't really support me at all, so the only purpose they really served was to hold the breast pads in place!

Just had a look at Emma Jane bras. Quite interesting - there's ones with special underwire that you can wear in pregnancy and for nursing (I personally hate the lack of support that non-wired bras give you):

The johnlewis brand ones are quite nice... Very supportive and great value for money (there's a twin pack for I think £30). much much much nicer than m&s ones and mothercare ones. I also tried hot milk, but still prefer John Lewis one over the more expensive options.

I used the NCT bra measuring service, which was free for measuring. Then the NCT bra measurer had all the samples from the NCT shop I could look at. I went for bravado which were excellent, had two, hand washed one and had it drying whilst wore the other. Theyre in such good nick, hoping to wear them this time again if I have similar post baby boobage...

Thanks for all the advice. The nursing bra shop looks great. I'll probably order a few & see what's comfortable.

Not particularly big, DD cup but I really don't rate Bravissimo after spending £30 on a really uncomfortable bra. In fairness, I probably should've taken it back.

Might try and sell the twice used bra on eBay, don't know if there's a market for used bras though!

Hi, I used the Nursing Bra Shop too, brilliant customer service. Word of advice though, if you decide to try any HotMilk Bras then use the specific HotMilk fitting guide to measure yourself. They're a New Zealand company so the sizing can be a bit different. At the mo, I'm pretty much a 34GG in most brands but in HotMilk I was a 36G (the fit was brilliant when I got it though, can highly recommend)
