Im 34+4 and over the past 4 or 5 days I've been having a lot of menstrual like cramping in my lower abdomen and back which gets very intense at times. This is also teamed with a lot of pelvic pressure when i stand up or when I'm sitting on the toilet(TMI sorry). This is my first pregnancy and I don't think I've experienced BH yet as apparently they are like a tightening and your belly goes extremely hard, but I don't remember feeling that? I have my midwife in the morning so will ask her then just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? I have noticed my bump has dropped a lot recently and wonder if maybe I'm starting to dilate/efface. Should I ask MW to check tomorrow? I don't want to call the hospital MW's as I was admitted a few weeks ago with suspected preterm labour, but it just turned out to be a UTI and I felt pretty silly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! x

Don't worry about looking silly. If you are worried, call the delivery suite and describe your symptoms. If they're worried, they will ask you to go in. If they're not, they will advise you on the likely causes and give reassurance. With DS I went in a few times and was always reassured that it was the right thing to do. And TBH who gives a flying monkey's if you're in every day and the staff start a pool going on when you will actually give birth when the possible outcomes for you and your child are so serious?

As above really. Not to concern you too much but I'm sure you'd rather be safe than sorry and end up in preterm labour at hospital rather than at home. Midwives are there to reassure and treat as well as actually deliver babies, that is why we have midwife appointments all the way through our pregnancies. Usually at this gestation you would be advised to call the delivery suite/ hospital midwives as they are there 24/7. Don't feel silly that you had a UTI as you still needed treatment and it was probably pregnancy related x
