Just the above question really. I want to make an informed decision!

MrsDeVere, that wasn't directed at you who clearly knew the midwife was speaking nonsense but maples who said (wrongly and dangerously), "Presume you've read about the potential childhood cancer risk of the injection?"

We conclude that there is no convincing evidence that neonatal vitamin K administration, irrespective of the route by which it is given, influences the risk of children developing leukaemia or any other cancer.

DC1 had it orally, DC2 & 3 never had it all (complicated miscommunication, I wasn't worried because they got good collustrum as did the others, mind). I got jab for DC4 because it was just easier to get it covered & over with quickly.

It wouldn't have mattered if it was :)
My decision was totally illogical based on a throw away comment by an irresponsible MW who should have known better.
Silly woman.

Grin I feel quite honoured. Almost but not insulted by someone who surely counts as MN Royalty! Wink

Mine both had the jab. Over in a second and they didn't register it. I had no doubts it would do the job intended and offered them protection.

DC1 was stuck for hours head side on and hauled out by emergency forceps in serious distress, and DC2 was abruptly hoiked out the sunroof in an ELCS, so I was so far from the peaceful water births I wanted another wee jab was the least of their traumas.

Mind, when DC1 had her recent pre school jabs I had to up to a large chocolate bar to give the same level of distraction/comfort as a cuddle and milk used to do. Cuddles and chocolate serve us well now!
