morning all

I have had one normal pregnancy until last stages where DC was breech and I had a c section. We were not aware of the BU until the c section, so to be honest, I didn?t worry about it during my pregnancy. During some recent gynaecological investigations i was told that I have one very large side and one much smaller side.

I am now pregnant again and due to see the midwife at week 8. I am unclear as to a) how concerned should I really be b) should I ask for/ will I require further monitoring.

Would be interested hearing anybody else?s experiences

I've got a BU (diagnosed after a mc last year) and am pregnant again (no children yet).

First advice, stay away from google! I've asked every single midwife/sonographer/gynaecologist I've seen about this (and I've seen a LOT for various non - BU related reasons) and nobody has seemed at all concerned. My midwife seemed quite excited by it Hmm.

I got referred to a consultant at 14 weeks after my scan as a precaution to check on everything who told me I was "too normal" to be under his watch through the whole pregnancy and that a BU only usually causes issues at the end of pregnancy when the baby is more likely to get stuck in the breech position (as you found out). I'm still technically under consultant lead care but won't see him again until 36 weeks where they'll check baby's position and schedule a c-section if necessary.

That's it really, I was told most women with bu don't know about it as it's not usually apparent on scans after 12 weeks as the baby's stretched it so you only find out when scanning a non-pregnant (or very early days pregnant) uterus or during an op like a c-section which most women never have!

Any more questions feel free to ask!

Hello - I have this. It was picked up at my 20w scan in this pregnancy (am 34w) by my sonographer. My MW said there wasn't much research about it, but that some medical professionals think it can cause probs conceiving/MC. I had a MC at 14w and lost a twin at 7w into this pregnancy so I do wonder about it.

My uterus is subsephate and I am unclear whether it is an issue or not. ( I'm15 weeks pregnant) . The midwife at my booking in appointment didn't know anything about subsephate uteruses and thought it was the same as bicornate, which I know is not true due to our friend google! I'll ask questions at the 20 week scan I guess.
