The shame of it...Blush

I am not frightened of the dentist one bit, and it has never happened before, but I went in for a minor filling and very nearly passed out. They had to give me a glucose drink and stop working for a few minutes.

I had a cardi on and it was quite hot, but odd that this has happened...

I am worried about whether or not I should be worried! I have never had such an unreliable body before!!

Has it happened to anyone else?

This happened to me once, but it was before I was pregnant!

Did you have an anaesthetic? My 'funny turn' seemed to be from a combo of anaesthetic and empty stomach (it was an early appt) - was told to eat something in future.

I am sure there will be other people who have experienced this sort of thing before, who will be able to reassure you

Were you lying on your back in the dentist chair? I passed out at my 20w scan in my first pregnancy from lying on my back for too long, as the weight of your uterus cuts the blood supply to your brain. I also nearly fainted in Gap a few weeks ago (must've been about 27w) from standing in the queue too long. I think it's fairly normal to feel a bit faint in lateish pregnancy. Could be low blood pressure or low iron. If it happens more often it might be worth getting checked out.

Might well have been lying on your back. I find that at 33 weeks even lying on my back in bed for a bit makes me feel faint and gives me a headache.

I have been dizzy the whole pregnancy (now 30 weeks) and fainted a few times, usually from being stood up for a while. I have low blood pressure, this could be the case for you as well? I would say maybe mention it at your next midwife appointment but it is very common in pregnancy it seems.

Low blood pressure does it for me, worth getting a check up. Also make sure you're fully hydrated, I get really wobbly when I'm thirsty. Hope all is ok.
