I am 30 weeks and starting to think about packing my hospital bag. But it occured to me that I will be using a lot of things I will need to pack up until the last minute? Eg I have 2 pairs of maternity/nursing pyjamas that I would take with me, but I am will be washing/wearing those up until the end I would have thought. Ditto clothes- I was told that after birth you will feel more like 5 months pregnant rather than back in your pre-preg clothes so again I am still washing/wearing these.

What is everyone else doing about this? I can pick the baby's things of course it was just mine I was worried about! I am having an ELCS which means i'll be in hospital for 3 days so need more than one pair of clothes.

I've got a list of things I've written down that I need to pack on the Actual day- eg, hairbrush, make up, bananas, etc. I'll pack them when I'm in the early stages of labour (this worked last time)

As you are having an ELCS surely this won't be a prob as you'll know in advance the date?

Yes I know the date I am just paranoid in case I go into labour before hand- I know of a few people who went into labour at 36/37 weeks so am wanting to be super organised just in case!

Sorry pressed post too soon. Thanks for the tip about a list though- I could just put that on top of the bag.

Can you buy a couple of cheap nightshirts in a slightly bigger size for hospital? Primark are good apparently.

Yes you will get lots of wear out of your maternity clothes after you've had the baby so your other pjs won't be wasted. It takes everyone a while to get back to normal regardless of how much weight you've gained. I think with a CS scar you will want soft, high waistbands for a while afterwards.

I was just thinking about this. I think I'm going to pack the things I don't need atm (great pads, maternity pads, baby clothes etc) then write a list and keep it pinned to the bag. That way even if things come on very suddenly or I'm in too much pain to focus (I'm sure that won't happen in first stages but never know) I can give list to DH or DM and they can pack the rest.
