But she said she has only known for a week. I was just wondering if this is physically possible?

She's a 19 year old girl, pretty slim with no weird menstration problems.

I was just wondering how common this is, if it is in fact something that can happen, or did she keep it from fiances brother (perhaps afraid or something)?

It's a girl by the way and they are going to name her Lily Rose, I believe [is TTC and so jealous].

Definately possible. If she was on the pill she would still have bleeding each break and with an anterior placenta it's possible to feel very little/no movement.

There's a lovely lady on here who didn't know she was pregnant until in labour StrandedBear I think.

Wow! I wasn't calling her a liar or anything I just wasn't sure if it was possible!

That must be mega scary. I don't think she was on the pill but as she's very thin her periods although regular are pretty light, so possibly one reason?

I have utmost sympathy for stranded!

Yeah I find a baby pretty scary and I've always had 8 months to get used to it. I can't imagine having little/no time to prepare!

Yes it does happen. It's more common than people think too. www.psychologytoday.com/blog/love-sex-and-babies/201107/how-could-you-be-pregnant-months-and-not-know-it

I know a woman who at age 44 and after three children, had no idea she was pregnant until 7 months gone.

I always wonder when people say they didn't know, what they thought the baby kicking and ramming their elbows and pointy bits in your ribs was!? lol

anterior placenta (when you placenta is at the front of you abdomen, rather than at the back, against your spine) acts as a cushion. if you have an anterior placenta, it's quite possible not to feel any movement.

i'm now 33 weeks and have never had a single kick to the ribs, btw. and i have a posterior (at the back) placenta. i've only ever had the elbows/knees/feet outwards at belly button level. so if my placenta was anterior, i would probably feel nothing at all.

also not all babies are wriggly and kicky. some are much quieter than average.
