I've been looking at Mothercare online, and nothing seems formal enough for a wedding. Any recommendations?

I really like Asos. They have some lovely maternity clothes and at a reasonable price. Plus they deliver fast and returning items is no hassle at all.
Hope you find something nice. Smile

Kinda expensive but well worth it imo

Crave at John Lewis is pretty good, I ordered 5 online last week, delivered to Waitrose by me, returned 4 of them in my own time (no time limit on returns).
I also like ASOS maternity but found the quality a bit rubbish and the clothes stunk when they arrived.

I'm a big advocate of the maxi dress at a wedding, when pregnant though and then it doesn't have to be maternity.

I'm a bridesmaid at the end of the month and I'll be 32weeks pg. my dress came from new look of all places and is lovely! Really flattering

I had the same dilemma a few weeks ago for a wedding I attended last Saturday. I searched high and low - even borrowing one dress (Mama's and Papa's from a friend from a few seasons ago) just in case I couldn't find anything. In the end I bought a normal but smart maxi dress from the high street. I didn't want to spend too much but would have if I had seen something perfect. I know friends have found things at Isabella Oliver and Tiffany Rose - but none were really me.
I did see a few things on ebay but wasn't sure. Not sure how far along you'll be at the wedding but I was 36 weeks. At the wedding their were 3 other pregnant girls all over 30 weeks and NONE of us were wearing actual maternity dresses. Quite damning of the ranges available really.

I had a Seraphine dress for a wedding. Really lovely and got lots of compliments. Jojomamanbebe are also good.

I bought one from eBay from jojo maman bebe but didn't end up wearing it. Not a size 14 are you?

I have the same dilemma, have two weddings to attend in Sept when I will be 35 weeks pregnant, one on a boat, one at a farm (so not your typical in-door venue) and cant find anything. Isabella Oliver seems to be all clingy these days and everything else a bit too summery.

I had a nice posh-looking dress when I was PG - it was just a bias-cut dress in the next size up.
would that work for you?

nickelbarapasaurus · 01/08/2012 15:39

or this company?

a bit more expensive

nickelbarapasaurus · 01/08/2012 15:40

*but some half-price outfits

BumgrapesofWrath · 01/08/2012 19:50

Thank you for all the recommendations everyone - you've been very helpful!!

Crave looks good, am very pleasantly surprised by New Look, Tiffany Rose maybe slightly more pricey than I was thinking... Looks like I've got a lot of browsing to do tonight!

Thanks for the offer Whiteangel, but unfortunately I'm a little bit bigger than a 14, am 18/20 at the moment!!

I suppose I could try to get away with a normal dress, but I am 17 weeks pregnant at the moment and am looking big already! Luckily both weddings are in September so maybe won't be too much bigger by then...

Topshop, I had 2 dresses from there borrowed from my sister so last years styles and I bought another myself in spring. 1 was navy with short sleeves, another was floral, and the final one was long sleeves coral wrap style. Get something fairly plain/basic and get yourself some nice shoes to dress it up. Don't be surprised if you need to go home early, weddings are soooo tiring!

To offer an alternative, there are companies that let you hire very nice and swanky maternity dresses. I went to a wedding at about 20 weeks and hired one from here - www.hireexpectations.co.uk - it was great, I couldn't have spent £250 on buying the same dress and it was so nice that I felt really good in it.
