I am 33 weeks with my second. This time last time I was working in London, wearing heels, walking all over the underground network, doing lots of travel for work etc.

This time... my goodness.... I can barely get to the postbox withough huge pain. I am walking at a snail's pace and need to lay on the sofa for an hour if I walk more than 10 minutes!!!!!

Is this normal? Is my body just so battered from last time (DS 21m) and I'm just not as fit as first time??? I havent put on as much weight this time so cant be that.

Grrrrr, I'm really struggling!

Yep. And I'm only 25 weeks! Apparently it's because the ligaments loosen faster the second time, having done it once already.

I'm really struggling with sitting in a chair for more than 20 mins or so - seem to get a sore tailbone, wierdly. That didn't happen first time.

And also walking at a snail's pace here. I was overtaken by two old ladies with shopping trollies the other week!

femmeaufoyer · 31/07/2012 17:44

Me too. 20 weeks with DC2. Bump feels massive and heavy (I remember it feeling like this at end of 1st pregnancy, but not so soon) Getting lots of twinges and sharp pains if I get off the sofa too quickly. And backache, which I never had 1st time round. I'm really worried how I'm going to cope with the next 20 weeks!

Spice17 · 31/07/2012 19:53

I have this at 30 weeks but it's my first!

Cannot believe how immobile I feel, how annoying it is waddling slowly everywhere and frustrating having to use a system of pulleys every time I want to get up of the chair/sofa/bed not really!

Iggly · 31/07/2012 19:54

Yes I felt a mess with dc2. But recovered faster post birth!

mumoflittlemouse · 31/07/2012 22:33

Yep, def true for me too. I am nearly 37 weeks with DC2, really on my arse and have been for last few weeks. I am queen waddle of waddleville and keep thinking I am going into labour as I'm just soo uncomfortable. Def didn't feel like this first time around until practically having our baby.

Really I need a proper rest (min 1 hr, feet up, preferably sleeping) every day but I don't always get it. I have put on less weight this time too (thank God) and feel hugely unfit, which I suspect I probably am Grin

Hope this is reassuring, I just think that pregnancy on the whole feels, physically at least, bloody awful and relentless for the vast majority of the time. What fun Hmm

Not forever though hey?! (Just feels like it Grin) Hang in there.

Yes I am really struggling now at 34 weeks, it's my second time being this far but I have had 2 pregnancies end in the second trimester, so have the benefits of four lots of ligament loosening hormones but only two babies. Actually I have struggled through them all but just in different ways come to think about it.

mumoflittlemouse · 01/08/2012 10:46

Very best of luck for the rest of your pregnancies all you ladies and esp MissCoffee Smile

lacroixsweetie · 01/08/2012 14:03

Oh yes - feel about a hundred yrs old. 25 weeks with my second and it is definitely harder work this time around. Tailbone (that is weird) and lower back/top of backside muscles already really tight and uncomfy. Getting quite concerned about the next few months as I'm still relatively small. Seriously regretting not doing more to get fit between this preg and my first but wondering what if anything I can start doing now to ease up muscles. Toning my a## is probably a little optimistic Grin.

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 01/08/2012 16:08

I was quite fit between pregnancies - was running a lot. Hasn't helped a bit! I went from running miles to being unable to get up the stairs without wheezing in about 4 weeks flat.

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 01/08/2012 19:09

Me!

I am 19 weeks with no2 and already get out of breath climbing the stairs. Running around after my 2.5 yr old all day is proving to be a real challenge! I am normally in bed asleep (complete with special pregnancy pillow to try and get into a confy position) by 9pm most nights... fun times!

The worst bit for me this time though is the feling of pressure on my foof! If it's this bad at nearly 20 weeks I'm going to be in a right state by week 40 Shock

Sossiges · 01/08/2012 19:12

FruitSalad that is really comforting since I haven't done anything to get fit (as I always meant to) and was regretting it slightly.

osterleymama · 02/08/2012 08:47

Yes! I'm exhausted and achy at 24 weeks! SPD is worse and earlier too. DS is 21 months and not sleeping at the moment so I think that's a lot to do with it.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 02/08/2012 08:51

I'm 30 weeks, have been struggling since around 25 weeks. Thought it might be to do with my age (40) but maybe not. I'm now struggling with daily activities. Crap innit?
