Hi I got the free boots changing bag yesterday and wondering if anyone got it and used it? Seems really small and change mat fills big pocket so thinkin I should get a new one? Anyone got any opinions? Thanks

Use it- see how it goes- if it falls apart buy a new one :) I had a cheapish boots bag last time- it did the job. This time (knowing how much I'll be using it and because I don't have much else to buy) I'm treating myself to a leather pacapod- they look fab!

I used it when I had DS. It was a bit rough and ready, but did everything I needed it too.

I'm too tight-fisted to spend £££ on a changing bag so it was ideal as it was free. Also, it's black and unisex, so DH didn't mind carrying it.

we have 2 changing bags - the free boots one and a bigger kipling one that we bought.

The boots one is really handy for popping out for a few hours - when you know you don't need everything. We actually use it more than the bigger one.

But we find it quite handy to have 2 - boots one is always ready hanging on the buggy for going out and the bigger one we use as a downstairs changing station (with spare outfits and things like that) so it lives under the coffee table. We also use the bigger one if we're going out for a whole day.

Problem is, the bigger bag you have, the more stuff you take with you!

Ours has been our main changing bag for 2 years, and even now I've got a 15wo and 2yo I can get everything for both of them in it.

How big is your changing mat Confused? I've got a Poundland changing mat, wipes (full pack), nappy bags, mini sudocrem, muslins, hand gel, 6 nappies each, a change of clothes each, DDs wrist strap, a drink, my keys, my purse and a mini magna-bloody-doodle in there.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 31/07/2012 09:15

It's useful as a spare bag to keep in the car

gallicgirl · 31/07/2012 09:25

Still use mine and DD is 18mo. She takes it to nursery with nappies, change of clothes, hat, wellies, rain coat and sun cream. It's been more than adequate.

Whiteangel · 31/07/2012 10:02

I'm going to use it as a spare for DH and to put in the car with extra supplies in. I'm used to carrying a big handbag so the boots one seems on the small side to me. I've been spoilt by my mum though who has bought me a pacapod! Going to be able to use it any day now!

Chunkychicken · 31/07/2012 10:07

I definitely second using it & seeing how it goes. I found that other changing bags are often very expensive & the one's I've had are shoddy & fall apart. Until you know whether you're a 'everything but the kitchen sink' or 'a spare nappy & go' kind of Mum, save your money!!!

moogs1000 · 31/07/2012 10:43

Think it seems like design has changed from a while ago then as this would never fit all that in it!
Changing mat was free one that came with it. I'll give it a go. Might let dd have it for her dolls if its too small.
Thanks

I've got one of the new ones, admittedly its smallish but then i'm hoping that it will prevent me from lugging around stuff I don't actually need. Currently got it packed as the babies hospital bag for when I go into labour. Managed to fit everything on my list in it so i'm thinking it will be ok. Also DH won't mind using it as it is black!

2blessed · 31/07/2012 15:06

ArtyJennie I've been hearing pacapod for a while, just googled and it is definitely being added to my wish list! I am a bit of a bag person. But OP, I think make use of any free stuuff you get - I will be

KatoPotato · 31/07/2012 15:12

I found my Pacapod was a nuisance after the newborn stage, with no wiggle room for 'adhoc' items. But I refused to admit this to my DH who was not a fan of me buying a £150 changing bag in the first place...

SimplySoo · 31/07/2012 18:14

How did you get a free bag? Definitely not looking to buy a changing bag if I can help it!

SchrodingersMew · 31/07/2012 18:24

Simply You sign up to Boots parenting club, you get that and then other stuff free later like a little weaning pack with a jar and porridge and spoon.

I have used it for a while after I got rid of the big pram that had a matching changing bag, it did everything I needed to and you will be shocked at how much you can actually fit in there. I have 4 changing bags, 3 of them are really big but that one is actually really quite handy because it's not massive, trust me, the more room you have the more shite you will find to weigh it down.

I don't use mines anymore as I bought a lovely JoJo Maman Bebe one which I think is amazing. :)
