Was thinking of getting some tomorrow, I didn't use it last time. What do you do with it? When can you start using it (I am almost 38 weeks)

Thanks!

Sorry- I have no idea. I thought this was a names thread. I am sure someone with knowledge will be along shortly.
Best of luck with everything.

I think i remember massaging it over the bump in the bath?? I have no idea whether this was correct but she was 12 days overdue so don't think it worked!!!

ahopskipandafurryone · 30/07/2012 20:49

I put it in some biofuel and rubbed it on my bump, it didn't really seem to agree with me though, I do have a friend who swore by it though.

Bio-oil even I really don't recommend biofuel as a medium Blush

I put it in the bath with Jasmine and Lavender. Only used after due date and went into labour @ 40+4 (same as previous time when I didnt use it lol)

I mixed 10 drops in with bubble bath then poured under tap for s nice bubbly bath! Then mixed 10 drops with 5 drops of jojoba oil u could use baby oil or olive oil and rubbed at base of my back and over bump :) but that was 2 weeks ago still overdue here!

Cheekychops84 · 30/07/2012 21:02

Ohh also u can put some on cotton wool and inhale it but it made me a bit dozy! Did give me Braxton hicks too

I remember trying to buy it in Holland & Barratt you would have thought it was crack cocaine, the woman telling me it's dangerous it can make you go into labour, erm I'm standing there 40+ weeks pregnant.

It's rubbish IMO, I rubbed into into bump in a carrier oil, as well as my reflexology point for the uterus and shoved about 15 drops in the bath OD alert, all that happened was DP complained about the smell.

louby999 · 30/07/2012 21:12

Had it going in a burner the night before I was due to be induced (but waters had broken) and also massaged with carrier oil into my back once contractions started. I had a good birth, fastish first labour (six hours) - might have helped (think yoga helped more).

I used it during my last pregnancy as I went overdue, we have a slightly smaller than normal size bath and as I'm 5ft 10 it was always a snug fit. When I was heavily pregnant i daren't get in in case I got stuck so i would burn Clary Sage in an oil burner in the evening before I went to bed. I was 8 days overdue so can't say whether it worked or not but i had a big bump (dd was born at 8lb 12) and was willing to do anything that might help her on her way!! Saying that my friend says its more 'effective' to put it in your bath. I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant, even bigger than I was last time (midwife is keeping an eye on me due to measuring big) and the oil burner is coming out again. But at this stage i'd paint myself pink and stand naked in a corner if I thought it would help!!!

In labour I found clary sage to be AMAZING at bringing on contractions. I was on a MLU and they kept shoving a soaked hanky under my nose. One sniff and BANG!
